E55 versus SL55 stage 2
Hey guys,
My neighbor has challenged me to a quick roll on from 50 to ?? in his modded SL55.
My e55 is stock and my neighbor's sl55 has a pulley, ECU tune, headers, plug wires and possibly resonator removal. He states it makes about 570 hp at the crank.
What will the outcome be? Should I race him or will I get spanked?

I think you might be in trouble as i have own both, the sl is heaver but a lot more hp. it will be down to who every is the better driver
i have raced against my old e55 (rentech stage 2 ) on the track and won almost every time

I agree with everyone else: you're definitely holding the upper hand in a head-to-head race.
By the numbers, the best 1/4 mile on Dragtimes for a stock E55 is 11.849. That's on street tires, PS2s IIRC. The best time for a tuned SL55 is 12.020. That's a Renntech tuned car on BFG drag radials.
You'd probably win and almost certainly wouldn't do any worse than running neck-and-neck barring some kind of equipment failure such as the IC pump cutting out.

We did a roll this last weekend from about 50 mph with both of us in S2. The cars were very equal until I hit about 90 and my car very SLOWLY started to pull away. By 145 I had a one car lead and then we both shut down.
I am totally stoked with the results.
How can a stock E55 beat a modded SL55? Are the SL's a lot heavier than our E55s?

Tony - I just noticed you have a C6. Is it stock? do you have an auto or manual? just wondering how the E55 compares. I have seen a video with the ricker and the E55 was faster. Just wondering if you could do a comparison for me on brakes, handling, comfort, acceleration from butt dyno, etc. I know these cars are totally different, but I am a long time corvette lover and I chose the E55 over the C6. Thanks.

i didnt race a E55..but i did race an M5. That thing is SUPER FAST..i only had a chance untill 80 km/h..at higher speeds i really got spanked
I have an ECU remap done by MKB..what other mods should i have to beat the M5..Is it even possible (Euro M5's).
