WANT TO PURCHASE E55, but where? HELPP
I'm looking to purchase a 2003+ E55 and my budget unfortunately is only 38k. Does anyone know of a place I could go to that has one for sale for around this price? I've checked Ebay and the dealers just won't budge on thier prices even though they have relisted a dozen times. Any help would be appreciated.

MB also has a large database of preowned E55s.
Hope this helps.

As for leasing, I don't know enough about it to really give you an answer on that one. My plan to purchase the E55 was to put down 10k and finance the rest so I was looking at financing around 28k over 5 years which would give me a payment of little less than 600 a month which I can afford. I've never purchased a car in this fashion but I love the car and would like to get my hands on one. I love the brainstorming thats occured here and I did check out your recommendations at Autotrader. What I found was some high mileage cars and I got a little hesitant.
In your experience, is there a sure way I could get something less than the fair market value. I've just about exhausted Ebay and I tell you that the dealers are absolutely looking to make every penny on these cars, they relist soooo many times with no luck but do not lower the prices. what gives? Any ideas would be appreciated.

How long do you plan to keep it? How many miles per year do you use, etc? Putting $10K down and paying $600 per month for 5 years comes to $46K. I highly doubt you will get one with low miles or a warranty for the price range you are in, so add any repairs as well. What do you really think that car is going to be worth in 5 year + the wear and tear (mileage) you add to it? I'd guess you'd be lucky to get $15K back (keep in mind the miles will be high enough for a re-build and no dealer will be touching a 10 year old car). That leaves you spending $35K (minimum) to drive a high mileage older car for 5 years.
Now, contrast that to picking up a lease swap:
1 - You are only commiting to about 2 years left, since most were leased for 36-39 months and it has been a year since the sale.
2 - You can likely put $0 down and just assume the lease, so your $10K down becomes liquid
3 - You have a warranty
4 - You have a newer car and more options
I never said leasing was cheaper overall. It is ll the same. It just depends on if you want to buy the front side or back side of the car and if you wanna pay up front or as you go.
Notice I ignored the mod...
