Question How do you turn off Bluetooth when car is off ???

I have an issue with the Bluetooth on my E63. It works great, but when I turn off the car and exit the vehicle if my phone rings and I'm within 30' of the car it grabs the signal. So far the only solution is to turn off the Bluetooth feature of the phone every time I get out of the car. Is there a way short of rewiring the power to the Bluetooth adapter to force power off when the car is off ??

Thanks

-Kort

The bluetooth puck in your car should power down about 2 minutes after you shut the car off. We all have the same problem and it's bit annoying. I've had bluetooth in my car for about 4 months now and I can count the number of times I've gotten a call before the bluetooth disconnected on one hand. It's a pain in the **** when it does happen though.

Turn off your phone when you get out of the car. Press TEL button and turn it off

Am having the same issue and with my home office immediately next to the garage, every time I opened the car door or trunk, the bluetooth connection would be activated!

According to the instructions that came with the bluetooth module, holding down the "TEL" button for 2-3 secs. will disable the connection so will try that next time before I stop the engine.

Thumbs up

Sounds like the puck must have a capacitor that has to drain before it completely shuts down. Thanks for the feedback I'll try the Tell Off solution.

BTW, slightly off topic, but has anyone else noticed that the BT module looks a bit like the front end of a McLaren Mercedes F1 car?

OK so my wife has been nagging me about this same issue. If she gets out of the car, and a call comes in, the car picks up. This happens even minutes and hours after she exits the car. What your saying is that it should sleep after 2 minutes? What if it does not is there a setting or a reset?

1) buy the BT puck w/ tail from the dealer. part # is B67875855
2) DIY install following the instructions at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ny352CxKbDQ
3) go to dealer and have them verion code it & voila!
