M5 board - I usually stay out of this stuff

I try to stay out of this stuff but just read a thread over there that was amazing. some guy posted in the "other cars" or high perf. cars or whatevery the hell they call it they he was getting a CLK black.

Some of the comments if posted against BMW would get somebody banned. The biggest offender is a moderator! What a douche!

He is the mod that banned me for calling him out on it.

They do have some good mods over their but this one is horrible.

I actually had to report him yesterday. His obvious sarcasm and combative nature is beyond belief and it's just amazing they allow him to get away with it.

That's too bad. The sad part is that there are a number of members of that board with whom I have communicated that have expressed concerns over how that board is run and the actions of certain of its mods - including this one. Once in a while, some member will say something. But usually, they say nothing.

It is sad. If you do try to discuss a non-M car, you really need a flame suit. And for a mod to be the "flamer" is truly pathetic.

I limit my posting there because it just isn't worth it to get involved in discussions that quickly head south. And I bet most of the members of that board read posts on MBWorld anyway. No need to post things there when they will be read here anyway.

Holy Crap! That poor guy got reamed for wanting to buy a CLK Black! Talk about being mean and nasty. I would think people would have more class than to just outright bash a poster. Pretty sad...but everyone is entitled to his/her opinion.

True! One cannot even have an opinion there if it is not anything positive about an "M" car which you see in the thread. And here you have someone that owned an "M" with numerous problems and they want to crucify him for complaining about it! Ridiculous!

I don't slam anyone over their opinions, it's not worth starting sh**. I liked the style of the 6. So much that I came very close to ordering an '07. But, I decided I wasn't in "love" with the car as much as I was with my SL. Hence my decision to go with the SL. Both very nice cars but very different. I know we are comparing M w/ CLK Black, but my racing days are over...just cruising now with an occasional speed run.

Hey that YouTube video was awesome.

"With the Benz DOMINATING the day" was the line that will make me smile for the weekend.

No "brakes sucked"...no "all power no handling". I believe AMG has finally done it. choir sings "Halllllelujah!!!"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNzuI7LO5lE

I am listening to the audio as I am typing. Holy cow....it was an M6 bloodbath. The CLK ate it for lunch.

BTW - if I had $140k burning a hole in my pocket, I still wouldn't spend it on the CLK63 BE. But I won't crap all over someone else who wants to spend his or her money that way.

The funny thing is all they've said in the past is "wait until the twisties". Well, AMG finally wakes up and from all reports that i've read this car is "not your daddy's benz" LOL.

someone also mentions quality. Are they serious? I look on that board everyday and you can almost bet there will be several posts about problems with their M5's. Last week there were 3 threads on the first page. "Red cog of death", "engine blew up", and something else. An M5 fan should not be talking about quality.

And of course, no one has even driven the car yet it's being dismissed as not being able to beat/ out perform an M6. Talk about being defensive.

It is just one test. The real times are what owners are doing at the strip. I don't put too much emphasis in what journalists publish. I don't dismiss it out of hand, but I'd rather look at a fair sampling of different examples. JMHO.

No matter how much I like MB's, I still wouldn't get the CLK BE. There are just a couple of other exotics that I have my eye on. Further, it is his $, he earned it, let him play with it!

If I had $$ to burn I'd be interested. But I'd get a C63 first!

That site is filled with a bunch of closed minded idiots who are not true car enthusiasts, they're just bmw enthusiasts. In their eyes if it isn't a bmw, it sucks. Especially if it's a MB.

Who cares what they think anyways?

This is one of the reasons I'll never own an M car. The attitudes of some of their drivers is beyond the pale.

M5 Members call for this Mods head, Gustav no response

Here is a new thread in which this Mod Wayward is seen berrating the OP,a respected member of that board who has owned several BMW's in the past:

http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/sho...d.php?t=101892

After many have complained from time to time how Wayward(M5board Mod) who is alot of times over the top,Gustav refuses to comment like he does towards other members such as myself for making comments he deems disrespectful.. Oh happy days over there! The OP also claims to be a good friend of Gustav'sand has very reasonable personal arguements.

See, that's the problem right there. I like BMW's, hell i even owned an E36 M3. With the exception of a few, the majority of the owners are tools. Great automobiles, horrible owners.

What's the difference between a BMW & a Porcupine?

The Porcupine has the *****s on the outside.

I have driven both cars and there is no comparison between the two. The CLK BE is cetainly more suited for the track compared to the M6 which I would consider more of a GT. If I had to choose between the two (and only needed two seats) I would go with the CLK BE.
