I've had an '04 A8L and my brother currently has an '07 S6 and I've been impressed with Audis given our recent experiences. As a pure driver's car, I'd consider it below the BMW though probably on par with Mercedes; and I rate the interior design and quality of the current Audi line highly, better than our W211s - though admittedly the W211 is the oldest design currently in this segment and I'm really looking forward to seeing the improvements Mercedes will undertake given what I've seen in the W221 S and the W204 C-class, they've made huge progress compared to the previous generation cars they'd replaced.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Lots of guys will probably like it if for nothing else than the fact that a twin-turbo V-10 with all wheel drive (with jumbo ceramic brakes to haul it back down fast) most likely has massive aftermarket tuning potential.
Now it's AMG's turn to release their upcoming twin-turbo 6.3 V-8, which will have even more tuning potential than the 5.2 liter twin-turbo V-10 in this RS6.
We'll be seeing 700+ Horsepower RS6 TT and E/CLS 63 TT 1/4 mile races at the drag strip and around town from the stop lights in the next couple years it looks like.
I'm looking forward also to AMG releasing their long-rumoured 6.9 liter 48-Valve, Direct Injection, DOHC, AMG built twin-turbo V-12 in the next few years for the SL/CL/S classes. That will be the 800 lb gorilla of the horsepower wars.
