New mods, car running super rich, ideas?

I've had the K2 and Vrus air box, car got about 19 mpg.

I just installed the Vrus 80 mm TB and Anti-belt slip kit. After 40 miles car is getting about 12 mpg and you can smell the gas. Any ideas? Does the ECU need more time to adapt?

Thanks for any input.

DSC...I haven't got my car back yet...hopefully by this wednesday. I hope you figure out the problem. The car will be actually be done tomorrow, but they want to datalog some miles on the car.

They want to dyno the car after about 300 miles after the install, too. Let us know what your tuner shop can figure out...

The 80mm TB should just give you more air, not faten it up. Check for leaks at the box install. Also, try the ecu reset. I dunno what variable the VRUS box plays.

Thanks AMGfan. I'm very curious to see what your car does. When I first drove it I squealed the tires from a dead start with full ESP on, WOW. But it seems lazy now.

Jangy, what do you mean "leaks at the box install"?

Look to be sure the round connection at the TB is sealed. That can cause issues if the washer is jammed.

DSC you should be able to break those tires loose in regular stock conditon and even with ESP on; although of course it quickly drops power and stops the slipping if ON.

My mods are filters, pulley and ecu and I can break 'em on a roll at 20-30 mph with ESP on (I leave ESP on as without it I'd be in real trouble) - my tires are relatively new (around 4K miles on them) and are good in all grip situations (turns breaking etc).

You ought to have the "squeal" available to your right foot whenever you need it , at least up to say 40mph. Are you not using M but just auto or C? If so try M and add some real fun :-)

Good luck !

Found out the problem. Install was perfect. When the tech did it, he disconected the battery. ECU is learning now about the new TB. After another 30 miles on the after TB odometer, the mileage is up to 16.5 mpg. You could acutually watch it learn, about every half mile it would increase the mileage by 0.1.
