You need the special tool to hold the pulley to loosen the bolt ... unfortunately ... you really have to tighten that bolt up plenty.

Better eat your Wheaties that day, those bolts are on tight my friend! Some use the torque convertor housing to stop the crank from turning, some have the mb tool that holds the crank pulley itself.

You can get a mb crank pulley holder off ebay for 40 bucks.Compared to 300 at the dealer.Theres a link here on the forum where to get one on ebay. Our local DIY thread guy(whats his name?)has the link.

The Mercedes Tool is just INCREDIBLE to watch in action.

Tech literally shootin the gab with me and just popped it right off.

I was like, "That's it??!!!"

One of Ebay...not sure how good this one will work

**edit, keep in mind, he did have a 3 foot breaker bar attached to this pup, plus a torque wrench that was about 2 foot+ on the crank bolt. Still looked pretty easy though.

LMAO...sorry,forgot about the specs question.Yes 147-148 plus 90deg.Torque the bolt down then mark the bolt face and pulley, then give it a good 90deg twist. The few that I have done were harder to get the stock bolt off than the actual tightening of the new bolt.

You should get the pulley holder for sure.
