Black Smoke?

Is it normal that my car spits out black puffs of smoke when I rev the engine hard? Other then that the car runs great.........

Thanks

Black smoke? That cant be good.

The only smoke you should see is maybe sometimes cold starts in the morning, white smoke caused by unburned fuel, or tire smoke during a burnout

Black smoke = Burning oil.
White smoke = Burning fuel/water.

You might want to get that checked out.

Sounds like you may be running lean and getting soot.

edit: I'm an idiot. I meant rich .

Actually, you may have an issue with something that is causing the CEU to dump fuel.

Black smoke is usually indicative of a rich fuel condition. (unburned fuel)

It seems like alot of performance vehicle (especially forced induction) will spit some black smoke when the vehicle goes full throttle. I would not worry

Nothing to worry about....E55 runs pig rich on top.....you can call it a safety device. They came like that from the factory, even the tuners sometimes tune them rich.

Also check the SC belt for signs of slipping.
