I went to the strip tonight. My E55 is no longer stock. I have a Renntech ECU and K&N filters. I have the Renntech pulley(not yet installed) but the ECU was programmed for the pulley. I'm not sure if the ECU helped much. It felt faster when I installed it, but the weather had cooled considerably while it was gone and we all know that cool weather makes more power.
I've only been to the strip in the 55 once before and my best time then was 12.45, completely stock, and the weather was a bit warmer. Tonight I did a 12.26. This run also had my best 60' of 1.90 and the trap was 114.73. I turned three 12.3s tonight each with 2.0 60' times. My best trap was my first run at 115.72 which was one of the 12.3s. These times were on well worn stock Conti's in 40 degree weather. Our track is now closed until the middle of February so I won't get to try my other mods (soon to be installed) until then. I had a great time and the E55 got lots of attention. I was told there were a lot of people upset about my times.

nice run how did u get it off the line?
I tried to use the same technique that enzom has posted. I had the suspension in the raised setting. I drove around the water and backed into it and did a short burnout. I probably should have done a longer burnout to heat the tires more but I don't really know what I'm doing. Had to remember to turn traction control back off after the burnout. No preload, just let off the brake and immediately push the throttle to the floor. Let the car shift in auto.
I probably could have done better without the Sprintbooster. The track was prepped well and traction was pretty good. The Sprintbooster makes the power harder to control as it comes on very early when you start to mash the pedal. If I could have got a 1.8 sec. 60' time I would have been close to turning in the 11s.

Thanks for thats, last question, what you mean by the sprintbooster?
And once again great time!!

What about starting in 2nd gear with the Sprint Booster? Are you leaving the suspension in comfort or sport?
I just think I could control the start a bit better without the booster. If I was really worried about it I would just remove it. I never tried starting in 2nd gear, I always leave it in S. I did have the suspension in the raised position.

The absolute key to an 11 sec ET with the 55, and for that matter the 63 is your 60' time. I have run a best of 12.5 sec and a 115 mph in my 63 with a 2.0 sec 60'. Let me repeat that again...a 2.0 60' The consensus is a 63 cannot pull an 11 sec ET but theoretically if I can manage a 1.7 sec 60' I would have an11 sec ET. Now the hard part, and maybe not even possible with my tire set up, is achieving the 1.7 60' time. I have just recently started to fiddle with the tire pressures, still have the stock Conti's (though they are pretty thin) For the start of next seasonI am going to switch to The PS2's (274 width) and start running mid 20's psi hot.Originally Posted by waxking1

You are a bit too optimistic on running an 11 second 1/4. I would guess that best case if you managed a 1.7 60' is a 12.2 second 1/4 mile. These cars simply do not have the power (or gearing) up on top to achieve that type of run. I have a 2006 E55 and whatever I take off or add to my 60' time gets put right-up on the "board".Originally Posted by 05VENOM

Best time to date is a 12.16 with a 1.799 60" time. Math is simple, whatever i add to the 60' time goes right to the 1/4 run...

Whatever you add to the 60' gets almost DOUBLED, then added to the 1/4 mile time. Originally Posted by MNM5ETR

There is something much more important than anything you can do to your tires.
All sub 12 second passes in the STOCK 55's have great 60ft times but also are run 99% of the time at a NEGATIVE DA.

These are actually pretty good times. I can't wait till you get the pulley installed.......

Funny you should mention that, but I can't either. I just got the bolt out of the factory pulley, but the pulley won't budge.Originally Posted by MB_Forever

Some 63's have run in negative da and have not gone much faster. I believe there was one or two at MIR when Jay ran 10's which still ran 12.40's and 50's if I'm not mistaken.Originally Posted by juicee63

Gotta do better and when weather is on your side you really need those 1.6-1.7x 60 fts to produce sub 12. It is truly amazing for stock, I dunno if we will ever see a 63 do it but I know it can never happen in a 63 (sub 12) unless the DA is below 500 ft. I think it will need to be -1000 to see a 63 hit 11.9Originally Posted by rflow306

Also as you and jrocket pointed out to me it seems the DA may actually be more critical to the 55k. You can certainly see a huge disparity in 55 times run at 48-60 and 60 and above.

Hopefully the weather will be good for you guys on the 30th and your car will post some good times. I think both cars are very close to each other in normal conditions with the e55 doing better in really good weather imho. Then again if we see someone in a stock 63 run an 11.80 my opinion would quickly change.Originally Posted by juicee63

What tire pressure do you run on your DR's Juicee ?

12/8 in Sac we have the best chance.. That track is 53 feet ABSL!! on 11/30 we start out at 1200 feet and its usually 75 degrees. Originally Posted by rflow306

I have just been doing the 28 lbs. My best 60ft was 18 psi but the low psi seems to kill trap speed. so I compromised at 28 , LOL.
waxking apologies for the hijack, rflow and I love discussing this DA stuff.
I am so excited for 11/30 and especially 12/8 in Sacramento. wish you guys were all able to come out!!

Agree, usually I would see a .15-.2 improvement with my 1/4 time when I decrease my 60' .1 sec.Originally Posted by ChicagoX
