"Almost nobody can get a GT-R for MSRP. Most dealer ask for a minimum of 10k over sticker and a max of 30k over."
I know of 6 different dealerships who are taking 7-10k deposits, for MSRP deals. The dealerships that want a 2nd allocation will play by the rules. Nissan is giong to keep a close eye on the gougers, and you can bet they will not receive more than there initial 2-3.
You want sinister?

Ill welcome any challenge from a Z06. The GTR has already been on the dyno, and produced 520 (480 claimed). The amuse exhaust will add 40hp. So I will probably be pushing 500hp to the ground. The following is a Z06 in a drag race with a Gallardo. (Driving ability aside) The Gallardo smoked the Z06. The GTR does 0-400m faster than a GALLARDO SUPER LEGGERA. The Gallardo in this clip is not a SL.

As for the looks of the different vehicles, it all subjective. I actually think the 997TT is better looking than both the Z06 or GTR. However, I am not concerned with the looks. IMO I have never liked corvettes, except for the Stingray. So the Z06 was never an option.

In an article about the GT-R in either C&D or R&T, they look at the intercoolers and they are pretty much the biggest that can fit in the front fenders, next thing would be a front mount, but honestly, it's making more HP than they rate it at. Look at the Supra, from the factory it was making 299rwhp and that equates to more like 350-360HP, not the 320HP it was rated it.

Well I think that seals it, the GTR is my next car. I need something I can put miles on, drive in any weather, be comfortable in, have lots of toys, etc etc. I don't really care about the "look at me" factor anymore.

The Z06 beats the Gallardo hands down. Ask me how I know? I drive one... The Gallardo is much easier to drive, therefore you may find a Gallardo beating a Z06. Properly driven, the Z06 is basically untouchable at the drag strip (stock vs stock). The Z06 will beat the GT-R and the Gallardo on the highway and drag strip. But who cares. At that point, it all comes down to personal preference and what kind of deals you can get.
I'm with CH, I think I may get a V-spec (or Nismo variant) in about 2 or 3 years from now. By then, the aftermarket should be flooded and the different models will be available.
BTW: I was on the GT-R bandwagon long before you probably even knew an R35 was coming out. I adore the car and would own one if it weren't for problems with the Nissan dealerships and the limited availability, plus the fact that I would get royaly screwed over if I tried financing one.

Check out post #23. It's a video proving the GTRs worth. This is what sold me.

NAGTROC sold me on the GTR. Great site. I just lurk there, and here for that matter. I try to stay out of the arguing which usually ensues in public forums. I can't wait till June. Depending on how much I like the GTR, I might look into a Vspec when they go on sale. If I bought one of each (GTR and Vspec) I am still under the price of a F430 or GT2. Leave the base for fun, and turn the Vspec into a racer.

"Not on the fwy. In an Evo comparison it ran out of breath at 180 when a 997TT was hitting 190mph on the same stretch"
The GT-R top speed is rev/gear limited.
1st 4.056 39mph @ 7000rpm
2nd 2.301 68mph
3rd 1.595 98mph
4th 1.248 126mph
5th 1.001 157mph
6th 0.796 197mph
final drive 3.700
The article did not say it ran out of breath. It said "we tried for the claimed 194 top speed, and time and again traffic conspired to thwart us". I am looking at the article now. The article also states, " in a straight line you had to wring out every last drop from the 911, to combat the GTR's faster upshifts". Besides, who drives faster than 180 in public? That's just irresponsible.

As for rev/gear limited, well hell my car would top BMW's official 205mph figure if it wasn't for damned drag. Where's a wind tunnel when I need one.
Irresponsible? Please don't preach. Overtaking at three figure speeds is dangerous, on an empty desert highway it's dangerous only to you and the tumbleweeds.
It's a good car but just because you have one on order doesn't mean you have to defend it to the death. Hell, I think an E550 could take me from the lights most days.

Im not trying to preach. I just don't know where I could hit those speeds here in TN, too hilly. I've lost my license twice, and I have never talked myself out of a ticket. All I can afford to do anymore is accelerate to the speed limit, as fast as possible. LOL.

You say that as if AMGs aren't sold over MSRP.
Or any Merc for that matter.
Many Nissan dealerships will be selling the car @ MSRP.
While some will be asking for over MSRP, little to nobody is going to actually pay the price unless it's like $6k over MSRP.
$15-20k over MSRP cars will rarely if at all, be sold.

E63 biturbo
My GTR arrived at the port last week and I took her out for a quick spin on trade plates. From the short experience I had, I would say that the GTR feels as fast as a 997 turbo but has a smoother power delivery. Gearchanges are amazingly fast. However, I doubt it will smoke my CLS55, a Superleggera or a Z06. Outcome of races will be pretty much driver dependent, with the GTR having an edge because of its gearchanges.

There is video documentation of the GTR beating the Gallardo SL 0-400m. In a five lap battle at Tsukuba, the SL inched out a win. However, the SL and GTR lead the pack by a few seconds.
Sleepersrock, I don't guess I really have to worry about you getting anywhere near 180 in that....:

How is a wastegate going to add power? Guess you aren't that educated in the turbo arena. All a wastegate does is stablize the pressure within the intake and exhaust charges, it has nothing to do with adding power. Yes, not given enough wastegate spring, a turbo cannot make the maximum amount of boost.
