Maybe quiet here, but my email has been off the hook. Everyone wants to know if this is myth or fantasy. Bad news is that it has been raining here some and it is supposed to pick up. Good news is that it really doesn't matter, since I have little traction in first or second anyways .

The only true way to show people how refined this tune is is to let them drive and experience for themselves. So, I took it over to Symbolic and WOOOHOOO!! Needless to say, we had some fun with a few of their cars too but not one hung with the E.

What is the most amazing is the top end. Sitting at 75 in third gear and just going through 3rd is sooooo sweet. It NEVER did that before.

Adam: Where you at, bro. We need to have this head to head soon. is psuball's car gonna be done anytime soon? I want to put the tune to the test before I go on and get TB, etc.

Vadim and I went over to see the Symbolic guys while I was down there.. Nice little toy store..

It must have been tough for them to see a $250K car get slapped around by a little ole' Merc..

What is speedworld? I don't keep up with 1/4 mile tracking. I just rely on my 63 brothers. Heck, they bring the lounge chairs and lots of ice. All I need is a drink and an umbrella.

I'll go anywhere that is reasonable to drive to go head to head with similar setups. I mainly want to complete the tuning parameters. I have a feeling Vadim will be riding shotgun and gathering even more data. I'm still waiting on Adam to throw out a Pulley + tune car for me to run. the other tuners won't even hang.

Symbolic does have some sweet rides and they love to play. They were introduced to the E at Willows, but now (with the top end), it is going to be more of a challenge to drive. Believe it or not, the E is slated to become the fastest DD I can get it to be. I'm having Symbolic find me a CLEAN 993 to track. LOL!! We gotta have something to mod after the E is done.

I have a speedtuning tune currently. What is the price of the Tune only (93 octane)? 06 CLS55 ASP pulley. I'm pretty sure I'm experiencing load limit problems..

Vadim, I have a couple of quick questions:

1) Now that Powerchip seems to have found the load-limiter code in the ECU and manipulate it, will they be able to do the same (locate and manipulate the load-limiter) for other AMG models, such as, the C32 and E63

2) Is this this specific tune based on 91 octane or 93 or 100?

3) Will this tune be sufficient if someone has pulley + headers or will this tune have to be changed once headers are added.

Jangy, congrats on your new tune man, you need to come with us to the track and really test it out

Vadim...what is the price point again for a VRP custom tune for a car that has another tuner's flash? Do you strictly need the car their to have this done or can you work off a dyno sheet with AFR readings to estimate the tune?

I am in a bit of quandary which way to go and which would be most beneficial. I have K2 (pulley, flash, and headers) but will have the VRP airbox, python tubes, cams, tuned heads, and I/C upgrade. I could go back to Kleeman for a reflash which would be less expensive, but going with you guys may yield a better overall result. I'm just thinking out loud...all these mods don't mean diddly without a clean ECU tune to tie everything together.

AMGfan: Idealy, I like to do a custom tune for the car on the dyno. However, if you do have A/F logs we can get fairly close.

Talk to Victor when you get the heads and cams, he will put together a package quote for you.

I'm definitely down to take it to the track. that is where the real gains are seen. I'll go ahead and tell you that I will be happy to put some money up to almost any other E. The car is just sick fast. Vadim and Powerchip really put the time into this tune and it really compliments the pulley well. I'm expecting slightly higher 60' times, but drastically better ets and traps.

Nah, just messing. I actually am still waiting on the other tuners (especially Adam / EVOtech) to throw up a car for us to test against.

I'm telling you guys Vadim knows his crap and has a great working relationship with powerchip. NOBODY has put in this kind of effort into such a convoluted puzzle. arly on, he could have simply popped on the pulley then the ecu and say ok you gained 40hp, go away. He wasn't happy with that. Again, it isn't about peak power. The tune is at all bandwidths and in all three shift modes.

Lets get this race over with so I can move on to my TB and headers, like a good boy should.

I thought I would report back since I had the VR550 on my SL55 done. My gains weren't quite as spectacular. I had a fairly weak SL55 from the get go and stock only dynod at 403HP. After the install of the VR550, Johnson pump, and PTE thermostat I was 434 HP. A gain of 31 HP. TQ went from 440ish to 490-something. A pickup of 50. I didn't have time to drive it around much to let the ECU relearn so hopefully I'll pick up a few more. I have another dyno scheduled for tomorrow now that I've put a few hundred miles on it. It's not the same shop so it won't be a true apples to apples comparison but it'll be intersting to see what it says.

Im a Vrp 530 so it would be Vrp on Vrp crime.. Course I do have the Evotech ECU..... I wish we had a track day to attend. Everyone seems to be bailing on Sacramento, Fontana is over and Speedworld is 5 hours away. Irwindale is every Thursday but it is only 1/8th mile.

Its great that you can be hands on and see the progress, wonder how much you have picked up??


My times improved 1/10th adding the pulley, moving the IAT sensor, and adding the spacers. from 12.40's to 12.30's trap speeds are yup maybe 1/2 mph.
