I have been to the location in Atlanta too.

Just remember not to fill up on the salad bar, save all the room you can for the meat!

I totally agree. I have been to the one in Addison (Dallas), TX at the corner of Belt Line and Midway. It was great.

Not really anything. If this thread takes off quickly I'll give it maybe two days max before it gets moved to the OT.

Thanks for the recommendation! I'll be checkin it out sometime soon. Brazilian steakhouse FTW!!

Here in San Diego, we have one called Rei do Gado. The meat is flavorful and juicy. http://www.reidogado.net/

I also ate at another one called Roda Viva up in Temecula. It was pretty good but not as good as Rei do Gado.

Its been awhile since I've eaten at Roda, but $20/plate? LOL, never knew it was that cheap. Yeah, I don't blame you for wanting to take a trip up to LA with your 55...enjoy your bday and some good food!

I've been to Fogo a few times. The meat, as you say, is very good. However I am not impressed with anything else there, ambience, salad bar (kinda feels like a cafeteria), etc...
If you want good authentic Argentinean food - try Carlito's Gardel on Melrose. Amazing meat, atmosphere, service, sides etc...

i went to the one in DC a few months ago and it was very good. i thought it would be like the one we have out here where they just slop the meat on the plate but everyone was kind and the meat was fresh.

....wellcome! It appears that ever since the forum got purchased by a larger company, it is more fun and less intrusion by the moderators. Prior to this, the moderators were kinda power hungry and tended to exert too much control. It is still the same moderators but they no longer own the forum and appear to have been instructed to chill a lil. Of course as soon as I say this, this thread is going to be moved to OT.

Carro de Bois - ATL

Fogo is great but a little overrated for the price. If you can do without the valet and park it yourself in a little less over done environment with the same authenticity at a lesser price (at least in Atlanta), like $24 to $27 depending on whether it's lunch or dinner there's Carro de Bois ( 8612 Roswell Road, Dunwoody - I'll have to confirm address).

Of course if you're ever in Jersey near Newark (EWR) there's a little area called the "Iron Bound,' there are several great Brazilian restaurants in there, notably 'Brazilia' and several others.

I'll take that sword/skewer of the Chicken hearts please...
