Too bad the E55 and E63's will beat it through the sprints (0-60 ande 1/4). Nor will it beat the Z51 C6 Corvette, either (430 - or about - HP version).
Interesting car and I bet it will be a great bang for the buck.

I posted this almost 2 years ago. Man that's a long time. A few things have changed but it's purpose is clearer now!

E63, SL 550 Sport,C63 Coupe On the Way!!
I think this will be a very credible car in the 4 door sport sedan market. I had the chance to drive a new CTS loaded for 3 days as a loaner car and I was very impressed by the interior and the cars chassis and feel I think the new CTSV will be a sure winner.
I drove the STSV and wasnt impressed the engine was strong but the chassis was lacking and the steering feedback was non existant. The new CTS was more nimble and solid.
I also like the looks alot with the new styling and the body kit, very modern and much nicer than a BMW 5 series in my opinion

550 hp is crazy.....![EEK!](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
Isn't the CTS-V competitor to the C63 (compact sedan, almost same size as the C-Class)? Why are they giving it that much hp? Won't that take away from the STS-V (at least until the new one comes out)?

REally?? The car didn't even come out yet. I'm sure it will give amg's and M5's a run for the money

2005 E55 Black / Black Every available option except Sat radio
Whoop-dee doo, another car that my e55 will crush. Fresh Michelin PS2's and the right music and I'll make the owner of the GM POS feel like he got F-ed.

I'm sorry guys but this is going to swallow up both the E55/E63 chew them up and spit them out. It weighs 4200 lbs. but has 550 HP/550 TQ, 15 inch front rotors, 14.7 inch rear rotors, has launch control type software, and is available with the 6 speed tranny/dual plate clutch from the ZR1 (less HP lost through drivetrain). The interior is beautiful judging from the pics as well. I love the exterior design too. The only thing I'd change is the wheels. The rumor is that this thing will come in between 60K-65K. I've been on MBWorld for the last 6 months perusing b/c I really wanted the E55 to be my next car. I absolutely love the E55 but I think I changed my mind. If it lives up to the specs and has pretty good handling, I want this CTS-V
With a pulley/tune/exhaust/intake, I bet this thing gains 100HP. I bet the block will be able to handle 700 or more crank horsepower. The Germans might finally have some competition from the Americans for once. World War II all over again

still looks like a denali/escalade on the dash. and what's up with that nav popping up. i think is is not good looking at all.
i wonder if it will drop as fast in price as AMG's?

If this car handles anything like my 04 V it will smoke about every 4 door car into any turn. the balance is perfect
I would also changed the wheels!

Doubt it, Skoob. That thing will be nasty. Fast forward 2 years, and half of us will have one if MB doesn't raise the bar. There is no question on Bang for your Buck. Also, Cadillac quality is arguably getting better than our Marques. I'm not talking about what we all think, I'm talking about what JD Power survey thinks. Buick just beat Lexus on initial quality on one of their rides. I'd take a CTS-V and 35k in the bank. Plus, you blow the motor and it is not 35k to replace.
