theeddie- I dunno, I think its proprietary information

Carl- I put a line of assembly lube on the bridges and then evened it out with my finger. There is a thin film that covers the whole surface. Both on the heads and the cam bridge. I put fresh motor oil on the cams. Will probably drive it a bit and then do an oil change. I never heard of starting it to a certain rpm. What rpm and for how long? I sourced some cam bridge bolts and plugs and I will finish the job tonight barring any unexpected circumstances. I dont care if I have to stay up all night (I'm pretty sure it will only take a few hours to get back together) I'm gonna GET ER DONE!!! In terms of tune, gonna owrk with Cory on a custom tune. No way I'm sending my car out to Cali just for a tune. Just need to send him mustang dyno files and my ECU. Of course those results will be posted too. High or low it doesn't matter. By the way, my car doesn't make much power
I would call up Patrick. Usually you want to rev new cams up to 2k rpm's on startup and hold that rpm for 15 to 20min. I would call up PTE for his recommendation b4 you start the car.

The 2k-3k is just to ensure proper initial lubrication on a normal install. After the assembly lube I spun my engine by hand until the cam & bridge was full of oil, very easy with-out any plugs. If the car shares the same oiling system as the later model 55's it will not be a problem it gets good lubrication. The most important thing is that you properly clean the cams they are brand new and could still have metal inside them from when they were machined

Both the wis and the Klee instructions just tell you to get the engine up to operating temp at idle.

Ahmad,

BTW if the cams don't work please call Albert for a full refund...........it's his fault plus he's loaded.

I know he's a baller looking for a CL65 (preferably white) and a C63 as his DD (an attempt at relating to the common man).

I knew I should have come forward when your check bounced for payment of the cams but being that you are so popular here, I did not want any pictures of me on a bench with reindeer's in the background posted on mbworld.

Cams are in and car is running! Thanks Rock!

Install... I dont know why but the cam tensioning bolt was REALLY hard to get back in but other than that the install was fairly straight forward. Thanks to Patrick for the instructions!

First impressions... The very first thing I noticed is that the idle isn't as lumpy as Jims car. I also noticed that I either have a slight misfire or the cams make the car shake like its misfiring. The next thing I noticed when I revved the car is that you can actually hear my supercharger now! Before I tried desperately to hear it but there was nothing. now at low rpms it is very clear that the car has forced induction but at high rpms the exhaust note takes over. I did a few WOT runs on the way home and the car feels faster but my butt dyno needs to be recalibrated so take it with a grain of salt. The real test will be tomorrow when I take it to the track and then the dyno. I may only get one pass in tomorrow night so I'm gonna try to make it count! It will be 30 or more degrees cooler than MIR was on monday

Awesome news!!! I think you hit it on the head though. The shake is what I feel. So hard to put it into words. Keep an eye on that misfire feel. Mine did have a plugwire go bad and Vadim had to swap it out.

Keep us updated

Changed the oil and took the car for a spin. Feels faster up top. We shall see tonight. The forecasters were wrong and it wont be high 50's/low 60's tonight. It will be low 80's/high 70's. Record setting will have to wait for the fall! Will still see what the cams do untuned. My guess? 11.4 @ 123mph

I should have measured them, since they won't give me the specs to give my tuner to tune my car! They are schrick custom grind cams

Sorry Ahmad... MANY times on various cam threads I've spoken out and explained why I wont post any specs.

Since everyone is out there looking at and evaluating everyone elses products, why should I make public something that cost thousands of dollars to figure out? I hope you understand our position.

Ahmad if you're getting the car dyno-tuned,which I hope is the case, you don't need the cam specs.

You only need to be concerned with timing and A/F ratio.

I'm sure you are aware that if I wanted to, I could take these cams to a shop and have them replicated. You keeping specs a secret isn't going to keep your cams from being replicated, just an FYI. I was up front and honest and told you why I wanted specs, so Kleemann can make a tune for me. I'm not in the business of selling cams

1/4 mile VERDICT:

Pre cams: 11.601 @ 120.25 with 1.701 60' in 90+ degree temps.
Post cams: 11.545 @ 119.80 with a 1.668 60' in low 80/high 70's temps

Sidenote... The car bounced off the rev limiter in second. Spun on the second run so I didnt post those numbers.

Conclusion... Cams gained no power and may have even lost power.

Dyno VERDICT:

Pre cams 405whp
Post cams: First pull was almost identical to pre cams 405whp. 2nd pull 414whp and third pull 415whp. The tach lead at the dyno was broken so no torque readings.

Conclusion: Cams made MAYBE 10whp

Overall I am disappointed in the numbers. I said I would post numbers whether I liked em or not and there you have it.

After seeing my car dyno, a guy with an M6 challenged me to a race. I gladly accepted. We went from a dig and I got him by 4 cars in less than a 1/4 mile. Then ran again from ~10mph roll and beat him again by ~4 cars.

maybe with a tune you'll see a few more hp...let's hope.

lol on the m6...poor guy can't figure out how he got spanked by an old 400rwhp clk!
