Foglight Replacement HELP W211 E55

OK, So my stock yellow looking crappy foglights gotta go.
I purchased some PIAA H1 Superwhites.
I replaced the fogs in my pld C32 and it was a hassle but I got to them but I was able too.
Now, I tired to get to them on my W211 04 E55.
I turned the wheel all the way, I took off a plastic screw holding the splash guard under the bumper, I pulled it back and peeked in.
Wow, how do you get to it, it's serious under there.
I tried to go through the mesh in the front, but that seems like a bad idea to try to wrangle that out.
So who has done it? give me a clue.
PS, Just did the Renntech lowering module, man that thing is awesome.
I did search but found nothing on the fogs

From what I have read...replacing fogs is a nightmare that does not seem to work.

Either get the car on a lift, remove belly pan, or remove front bumper... This is what i had to do to replace one of my fogs, and to install the HID fog kit

^^^ What he said.

The bumper comes off with 6 screws and 2 body clips, if memory serves.

If you pull the wheels, it will be much easier to replace the PITA clips.

Good luck, and post pics.

That's what I thought..Oh god why do the Germans make such good cars but make it so damn hard to do anything to them.
I am replacing the system as well, should be exciting, keeping the Logics system with a JL Cleansweap.

Vader I'll help you out,
First off, the fog lamp is a 9006 bulb.
Secondly all you have to do is open the door under the lamp to gain access to the bulb. In the link pic 22 you can see the doors.
Third, PIAAs are OK, HIDs are much better.
Fourth all you need to do to upgrade to HID is drop the forward belly pan.

The manual call for H1's I was wondering about that? The 9006's were the ones I used on the C32
And to Obsidiane55 I get free stuff from JL, thanx though..

Yacht is correct, no need to pull off the bumper...damn thats just crazy if any of you did - as for the bulbs, see Ed at Harbor Motorsports in Santa Ana. He can do a full HID setup for you that will match your factory xenons. He did my E55 in about 1/2 hour with the slim ballasts and resistors so you get no light out issues. He actually now owns my E55...tell him Vic55 sent you

I thought u wanted to replace the foglight housings, that is why i suggested removing the bumper, or lower belly pan, but as the others stated, if your just replacing the bulbs, there are access doors in the belly pan under each fog, just open them up reach in, and the fogs right there...
