SL600 Exhaust: Video

I recall a couple of members in the E55 forum requesting a video of my 600 with the exhaust modification done, well... finally got around to it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6TFzmIKVVAM

Hope you guys enjoy the video!

As you can tell I also switched rims from the 60lbs MHT M10s to the 30 lbs Radenergie R5s. Quite the difference...

Will get a video sometime later this week of the car in action down a straight to get a better idea of how it sounds.

Sounds good. My former 600 had the Eisenmann RACE exhaust on it and sounded very similar.

BTW, pull up your pants bro.....

Actually it's just an exhaust delete. I liked very much the way the 600 sounded stock, just wanted to get it louder-- I was going to opt for say Eisenmann or something along those lines but thought I'd be a little different then the crowd.

You just did the resonator delete? Any check engine lights? How much did it cost - thanks.....

It didn't really cost me anything, I had my trusty employees do it for me actually. If your looking to get it done it shouldn't cost more then... 100, maybe 200 at the most. Easy mod.

It's an exhaust delete, the rear two are essentially chopped off. No check engine lights, car runs great-- I would say it even has a little more pull.

did the same on my buddies 08 S600, just chopped off the muffler and replaced them with piping, finished off with AMG tips from an extra SL55 muffler... Sounds great!! Nice wheels too..

My friend, I don't have to respect anything I don't want to, especially when you demand it instead of earn it.

You are entitled to your style, not to my respect.

Man I really wanted to delete the mufflers of my 55, I deleted the secondaries and the resonator instead, and now regret it. I should have just deleted the muffler and thats it... I'm still thinking of doing this, but I'm afraid of losing a lot of torque....

Sounds really nice Exodus, do you have any pics of the exhaust? Thats another thing that worries me, if you just replace the muffler with a straight pipe, doesn't it look awkward?

Ok, and you have to input your view on something totally irrelevant here because...?

I'm not even doing this, forget it. You're right, have a nice day

Not trying to start anything, my comment about the jeans was tongue-in-cheek... but telling me what to and what not to respect was just a bit much.

Enjoy your 600... you'll really like what a good ECU can do to it. Kleemann also just released a new suspension program for the airmatic on the 600s, makes them much more 55/65 like.

I've had it done to a SL55 as well. We straight up removed absolutely everything silencing the vehicle, at least as far back as we could as per the owners instructions-- and against my better judgement. It was incredibly loud, I mean it would put Cobra's to shame, plain and simple.

The owner eventually came back and requested everything be put back on, complaining about the loss of torque and such. I definitely do not recommend it. I think just a resonator delete coupled with a set of K&Ns really sets the car off nicely.

And I still kept the same set up. Essentially, we "dumped" the exhaust old school style. That way I don't have to deal with an awkward look and should I ever need to re-attach the pipes, it's a simple ten minute job. So, everything looks the same.

My name gave it away! I came to America at an early age so I don't remember much of the old country.

None what so ever. When I had my E55, I did the same thing and it was horrible. The 600, not so much. Infact, it's at a minimum. You hardly notice the difference... or maybe I'm just used to it. I can go ahead and do an inside video for you if you want, and I'll drive it up and down the street. Let me know, that way you can judge for yourself if it's something you want to deal with.
