While these can be used with a K2 tune, it appears that a custom VRP tune will give you the most HP increase. I am no where near a VRP location and I've decided to stick with my K2 ecu tune.

Guys.. I really want this one point cleared up because it pops up every once in a while...

Out of the 11 sets of cams we made in our first run, only 1 had to be retuned because it showed no gain on the dyno and that was Rocket's car with the Evotech tune.

Out of the remaining 10 sets, 4 were used in VR700 or other custom packages where they were purchased in combination with other parts and a tune was provided with the package..

The remaining 6 sets were sold to others with existing K2 cars and no one has retuned and are running very happily and making good power.

They are all members on this board.... Sunil in Houston installed a few, Satish from Motorwerks in Detroit installed a few, and Chris @ C2 Designs has installed them.

None of their customers complained or are having issues with the cams not providing power.

I consider this to qualify the cams as drop-in replacements with no retuning necessary.

Of course a custom tune will provide the best hp increase, but without tuning, the norm has been 20-30rwhp on a dynojet.

Now, saying all that, my buddy Dave here is giving someone a heck of a deal!!

How much are the cams normally? Would they work with Stage 1 RennTech tune or would they have to be re-tuned. I have a buddy who's interested

And this is not available to the majority of us. So there has been a reported ~10% of people who experienced a loss of power. I for one would like to see more before/after dynos without tunes. Have all 11 customers dyno'd before/after? If so, lets see some graphs or even better some before/after trap speeds!!! I have already seen Alberts

Have there been any CEL issues with the VRP CAMS. I can't recall if any members who had the VRP CAMS installed experienced any. Sure would be nice to hear from the 11 members as I have been interested in these cams since they have been out. Please speak up !!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll let you know. My engine should be put together later this month. I had the VRP cams and VRP long tube headers and exhaust put in with the VR700 ECU tune along with the new pistons and tuned and ported heads. Hopefully I won't throw any CEL's with the VR700 tune.

Maybe Vadim or Victor can chime in on this, especially with their recent experience with JakPro's car...

Vadim said no more lights with the weekend of mileage he just put on mine. We'll see when I put some more mileage on her up here. My tech did tell me that modded cars really throw those certain CEL's up here at higher altitude and not much you can do about it.
Not sure how the hell I am gonna mine to pass emissions then, but we'll see.

I never had a single cel light problem because of the cams. The only problem I experienced was the car stalling when cold with the factory idle. Once we raised the idle that went away.
I had a custom tune before any of the cam install's so I did not re- tune the ecu for the cams. I went from stock cams, evotech cams-sold as SLR copies and finally VRP cams. The evos made a best of 6 rwhp over stock while the vrp's made 27-30.

On the first revision of SW we put on Rocket's car, it was throwing some CELs.. We have since tuned 2 other cars locally at our shop with VRP cams and our software and NO CELs.

We've asked Rocket to send his ECU so we can update his and see if it fixes the problem. The CEL is only because the MAP sensor is seeing vacuum values outside of the normal ranges.. The ECU thinks something is wrong and throws the CEL.. it does not cause any performance or drivability issues.

The fix was to modify the threshold values for the vacuum levels so the ECU wont think its out of whack.. Jim's car is clean.. No CELs.. Lee's car is clean.. no CELs..

Yep, I used to throw 4 different codes now I seem to only get 1. Vadim did E-mail me askin to send my ECU to him. But If they are just lights I dont care to much for the time being. Im not a big fan of takin out my ECU and shipping.lol
Ill wait for the top mount I/Cs and get both fixed at the same time.
