Evosport making Carbon fiber driveshafts
not sure if any of you E55'ers have seen my post in the C32-C55 section asking about a carbonfiber driveshaft. well with much interest is such a product from the thread Evosport has answered! and they will start the construction process building carbon fiber drive shafts for Mercedes and the good news for my fellow AMG owners is they are starting with an E55. I feel the more people we can get to have an interest in such a product the better it is for all AMG owners. anyway guys here is the thread that sparked it. Evosport chimes in on the 2ed page. It would be nice to hear what you E55 guys think about it. The more interest the better.

I dont know exactly down to the pound but if EVO pulls it off, that will be one of the best mods to handle increased HP+ speed, and reduce weight,,
I estimate it could be close to saving 80-110 lbs. which 1 hp gained at ever 7 lbs reduced, that would be like gaining 12-16hp, which is great
I suspect it will also, reduce flex and be more efficient in transfering power,
and be able to handle more HP all of which is good..
go evo !

I have been investigating CF drive shafts for a couple months, it is one of the things that is being added to my Black Series' "phase 2" mods. I am most likely going to have Evosport build mine as well since they have done most of the other work on my car to date, but take a look at the followning link.
