Man killed at Englishtown raceway park today NHRA
Very sad news. Many of us who are into the Japanese car Drag race scene knew the car and the (Scott)driver of this Toyota Solara. My condolences to the fam.
Jeez it's not the first serious accident I've seen or heard of there . This is the firt one I know where someone actually died at Englishtown Raceway park.

Yes this is very sad news. I didn't know him but from listening to all of his friends, he sounds like he was a good man. I don't know what's worse the news of this horrible accident or to watch it? I have watched it atleast 10 times and other than the chute burning up there seemed to not be enough room at the end of the track???? Hopefully NHRA learns from this as did Nascar when Earnhardt crashed back in 2001.
You guys on the east coast how is the room at the end of the track?

RIP Scott,
Guys he was a pro racer, this is a grim reminder accidents can happen to anyone at anytime. Be careful out there.

the kalitta family is huge in the NHRA, and that is just a tragic loss. in regards to the top end there, im not sure if you would ever have enough room to slow from 300+ unassisted. the road i take into etown passes the airport, and runs right on the other side of that barrier at the end of the track. im not sure exactly how close it is, but i do not think they could extend the track by very much.

Horrible news...
After seing the video of the crash I can't seem to explain why would there be a wall at the end of the track, specially for these types of races it is not appropriate. I think that may have been the cause of the death. The wall finished him off....Very sad.

Almost everytime I go to E-town I see a pretty bad crash.
RIP, I feel really bad...like someone else said, this just goes to show that it can happen to anyone. Racing is a very dangerous sport.

Are we talking about the Bullish Racing Solaras with the 2JZ's in them? I've seen them race before, a shop I used to work at competed with them for a bit. I'm real sorry to hear this. On a brighter note, anybody planning on attending the Funkmaster Flex custom car and bike show this weekend @ E-Town?
