Made a trip to Tampa yesterday to meet AMGfan and check out his E55. It is truly overwhelming, I can't begin to describe all the work going in to this car (WOW). Best part about it is, all the changes are so tastefully done, everything looks right. Guys the bar has been raised to a pretty lofty hight on this project, more to it than meets the eye here. Just awesome!
AMGfan, Thanks for your help on my little project.

This just gets better and better. Amazing. Truly a work of art and it isn't even finished yet. But to see the work going into this... Shocking that there are installers out there with such skill. That's going to be one FAST concert hall.

Week #8 pics...more this coming Saturday...
Headliners is gone and getting re-wrapped in black alcantara w/french stitching and embossed AMG logo in the rear part of the headliner
Partial reattachment of front bumper (missing grill...waiting for new brackets)
Another view of front...
Partial build of trunk (showing new battery location)
Higher view of trunk showing rear deck sub enclosure...
Top view of rear deck with top seal (helps fire low frequency up through rear deck)
View of inside of rear trunk panel (w/ resin and fiberglass build out...it will be wrapped in alcantara w/french stitching and the center will hold a Sony digital photo frame that will play all photos of the project when the trunk is open)...
Closeup of the center frame that will have a CF surround...
The end is near...they are going to fire up the sound system tomorrow. The final trim panels (headliner, laser etching, trunk alcantara) will get here next week. The exhaust tips will be painted chrome black and we decided to remove the 3 piece rear deck spoiler and send it to the water transfer pro and get it done in carbon fiber...
The light at the end of the tunnel can be seen......then we work on getting the rear fenders flared...sticking to 1" in the rears to fit 305's.

Saturday 9/6/8 Updated Pics...
The did a sound check on the front stage and rear subs today. No tuning on the system has been done yet AND it SOUNDS UNBELIEVABLE. They tested it with Sarah McLaughlin tracks for stage, vocals, and the instrumental mid bass and bass notes...no tuning and it still sounded good. They did some test tones on the subs to see if rattled the stock rear deck and it was rock solid with no rattles...!
The interior is still in pieces since the headliner isn't back but once it's put together I think you guys will like how it will come together.
3/4 Shot of the Beast (stock rims still on it and the hood isn't fully closed...they will mount the repainted CCW 19"s on Tuesday)
The repainted CCW 19"s (if you forgot how they look)...
The trunk cleaned up a little bit (check out how clean the battery terminals are setup...there will be a trim panel to cover this part up...)
The headlight trim in CF finish...they are going to cut out and delete the middle portion of the trim and refinish it...I thought it looked to busy that way but I wanted the gap between the headlight and surrounding trunk/fender to be filled it...
Just another front shot...
Enjoy!

Pics from yesterday (9/10/8)...
We are turning the corner...the A pillars and C pillars are back...we just test fit them in the car...the rest of the headliner should be ready tomorrow along with all the trim pieces for the interior.
I should have more pics of a more completed interior Saturday along with the repainted CCW rims on the car, too. The rest of the trunk should be wrapped in leather by then too.
The A pillar that will house the Focal tweeter...the Alcantara and stitching really look good in person...
The C pillar...Looks way better in person
Partially finished trunk bottom...
The back of the trunk and the second pic is the laser etched plexiglas w/ AMG logo (it will be backlit)...
The underside of the trunk lid (wrapped in Alcantara and housing digital picture frame)...
Another pic of the front of the car...

Pics 9/13/8...
I was a little disappointed...the headliner won't be ready until Tuesday and part of trunk panels (left and right) also need to have some extra stitching where they couldn't wrap...well you could but it just wouldn't look perfect. At this juncture, we couldn't take any shortcuts...so off to the upholsterer. Patience is a virtue...
Battery Charger (CTEK)...I got tired of dead batteries when I went on vacation...just a temporary location...it'll be in the trunk w/ a plug accessible next to the license plate light bulb...
Repainted rims finally going on...I recommend getting some lugnut sleeves to avoid paint damage to any rims...
Trunk views...only thing missing are flares and fire extinguisher (right cubbyhole)...the left and right trim pieces for the amps will be in carbon fiber finish
Rear bumper...the exhaust tips are getting taken off today for painting (chrome black finish)...
