2010 E550.. Gone but never forgotton - E63 AMG..
Have any of you painted your grill black ?
Is this something you can do on your own ?
My main question is, would the finish of the paint be shiny or dull flat ? Sorry if its a dumb question.. I want to take my car in to have the grill painted but need to be sure of what kind of finish it needs.

mine is painted shiny black...sorry for the crappy pic, but its all I have right now.

That looks hot. I think you need a black grill on a black AMG. I cant tell from the pic but have you removed the star emblem for the hood bagde ?

You can paint it flat black or gloss black, either way you like. It WILL chip though

Im currently lookig into getting my front grill painted the glossy black. Also looking into getting whole front bumper repainted too. As well to fix the 6 holes on my bumper. Gonna try to get the insurance to pay for a portion of it.

Mine is painted gloss black. It looks great. Take it to any body shop, have them strip off the chrome, and you wont have as many issues with the paint peeling

+1 on strip/sand off the chrome.

Had mine painted 040 black.

Any AMG Thats Around..
i have painted a bunch of grills....

if you go to my site in the W204 album there is a c class black.... i did a CLS550 today in black.... i have done full roofs pano=like black...

i take the chrome off the grill and paint it seperatly.... then i can paint the chrome as well....

your in NY... ck the site, maybe i can be of some help....
