Racing @ New England Dragway Wed. Sept. 10th
LET'S GET TO THE TRACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lee, Zack, Zack Buddy, Johan and others, let's make a night of it and maybe break some E55 Records. Going to have Fred and Al join us too with his 11.5 sec. MUSTANG.
Peace man..............
My favorite example was me vs. a 08 Vette. It was my best time of night and beat the Vette - ready for this??? 13.1 @ 114 for me vs. 13.3 at 111 for him. He said he races there frequently and then left the track.
I consistently lost traction when shifting from 1st to 2nd geer - full on sideways burnout. The car is stock, shouldn't do that.
The guys at the track didn't treat it at all...disappointing. A waste of time, really.
Ahmad, yea, got to take advantage when the conditions present themselves. Who knows, it might be the last great chance this year.
East Coaster....I agree. The track conditions have been inconsistent this year. Sometimes the track is great and others well, you take a run or two and go home. Irregardless of the conditions, I will still show up and give it a run or two. Please introduce yourself to me or vice versa. You know what I drive so look for me. Usually parked under the stands while I cool the engine.
I think I raced that Vette last year when I was a stocker and lost to him everytime by just a 1/10th of second. Been looking for a rematch to bury his **** since. There is another one too that is owned by a lovely lady who was admiring my BEAST this spring. She was taking lots of videos of my beast down the track. Hopefully she will be at the track too. Very hot indeed but married with child.
Stay tuned........

Just kidding.
I will probably be there, I'll bring my buddy in his e55 (chris, btw) and we may have a special guest, our neighbor in his twin turbo porsche. I just gotta get him to stop whining about frying his clutch.
EastCoast, come on up! It would be fun to race/meet a fellow e63'er!

What time is everyone getting there?
What time is everyone getting there?
I hope you get a sticky track on top of the good weather.
Current conditions: Time recorded 4:55 PM; Temperature °F 67.8; Dew Point °F 42.6; Altimeter Setting 30.24 Inches Mercury; Absolute Pressure: 30.15 Inches; Density Altitude: 447.7 feet (and dropping....quickly);Track Elelvation: 90 feet
If last night is any indicator of the weather pattern for tonight (and it looks very similar), you should have negative DAs by about 8:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m., and possibly go as low as -500DA by the time the track closes at 10:00 p.m.
Very anxious to see the results!
DA was -265 at 8pm and -453 at 9pm.
I think the last time Roland posted the same night (in May), but I can't remember for sure (I was making the 5 hour drive home getting back at about 4am
).C'mon Brotha - post those times/vids!!
Sorry to dissappoint you guys.
Last night was the busiest I have ever seen the track. Only got in one run last night and my girlfriend got in one run (THE SECRET WEAPON-100lbs lighter than me).Track Conditions were not very good at all. My strategy of waiting till 8:30pm to make my first run BACKFIRED on me. I was hoping the DA would offset the deterioting track conditions after 3.5 hours of every type of street car tracking last night. Next time, I will get there early, let the car cool down, and hopefully be one of the first one's down the track. Oh well......
Sorry to dissappoint. It will happen this year..........Still 6 weeks to go.....

My best run was my second to last run (out of 4 total):

I'll let the other guys post their numbers, they were slighty better, with the best being the stock E55 that did 12.4. It was another nice run.
Two things that absolutely suck on the E63:
1. There is no way around the 6200RPM in first. Even in manual mode, the car shuts down the gas at 6200RPM and then lunges back to 7000RPM's. It feels just like ESP interfering. IT SUCKS, I PAID FOR 7000RPM's IN ALL GEARS NOT JUST 2-6!!!
2. When running in dyno mode, the car automatically starts in second gear (unless you manually shift it down with the paddles). Nothing like getting a decent launch and then having the car downshift at 3000rpms to first.
Lesson learned: both of these methods result in low 13's.
Seems like E55's are both easier and more fun...Mmmm...

It was a pleasure to meet you last night. We will have to do it again real soon but with far less cars at the track. Maybe we should look into going during the day and spend the $100 to have the track to ourselves and others for test and tuning. Zach swears the track is well prepped and noone shows up. Let's wait for a really cool afternoon, 50-55 degrees and DO IT. I will be checking the weather from now till the end of October to get that "perfect day".
BTW, you 63 is an awesome machine..........Good going last night!!!!
