Thanks Jay. DRs definitely hurt my corrected trap vs. stock trap (stock tires).
Regardless come hell or high water we will run an 11 with just tuning before we move onto headers/CAI, etc.

Thanks
Andy

Thats a good time Andy. What there the conditions like when you ran your 12.6? Were you using drag radials?

I guess you need a few more passes so before we can see the full potential of your tune. Either way, I think you did a good tuning job.

Thanks! I ran best uncorrected pass of 12.89@111.5 on stock tires with K&Ns, no charcoal filters, and the stock tunes. That corrected to a 12.5X@115.5. The DA was over 2000' (I posted all the data just can't remember off the top of my head). Last night's DA was around 750-800' I believe.

I definitely do. Not only did I not get to test the other tunes, but I didn't get to fully explore the V1 version either. Assuming I would've gotten 3 runs in I had originally planned to launch:

1) No brake stall, just flat stomping the gas.

2) 1500rpm brake stall

3) 2000rpm brake stall

I have a sneaking suspicion that I was overshooting the converter last night with the 2k launches (since I wasn't getting any spin like I would on a stock tire). Raising the stall speed and lowering my launch rpm may help a good bit. I guess we'll find out this week.

Thanks
Andy

Just got back from Mexico and I can confirm that Andy's car is the real deal. We did a few short runs on the highway and I could not pull on him. The one that got the jump stayed ahead.

Like Andy said, too much traffic to run for very long but enough to know that his car is a rocket. It was every bit as fast as mine today.

Good to meet you Andy. I hope we can hook up at the track next week and get some better numbers.

YES!!!

I trap consistently at 121-124mph at the track so I know I have a strong car. Like I said these were short runs and not well controlled but his car was every bit as fast as mine from 50mph to 110mph+.

It was a pleasure meeting you today as well Dave, your E55 is gorgeous and sick to boot.
I'm looking forward to the coming weeks at the strip, it would be great to meet up and make a few passes--also get you some seat time in my car.

So on my way home from the carwash just now my ESP decided to take a dump on me again. The first time it happened was at 650 miles (actually right after my first trip to the track) with stock ECU/TCU, it ended up being a broken yaw sensor. Just pulled the code and guess what, yaw sensor again...Anyone else blowing through these or is it just me?

The ****ty thing is even though ESP is supposed to be inactive it cuts in like a champ. Looks like I'm hitting the dealer again on Monday...

Rock,
Did you ride in or drive Andy's car to see how the shifts felt? Thanks for the report.

Rock I know you no longer need me in your world and that you have chosen Andy as your new friend but please dont protect him just because you like his package. (ECU/TCU that is)

I had a feeling this was happening on the C63.

I run in DYNO mode which completely disables electronics. Sadly MB claims ESP is fully disabled on the new C63, but it is likely still interfering.

I think you will be suprised leaving off idle , feather the brake with the slightest pressure. Try and have the car roll out on 2nd yellow then hammer time

Juicee,
I think you're right, I will try to leave off idle and flash the converter w/out overshooting it next time--in addition to raising the stall speed as I said before. Hopefully my dealer can get the yaw sensor in and replaced in time for me to hit the track with the new tune this week.

Now I'm wondering if my dyno results are going to be affected if I dyno before I replace the yaw sensor.

Unfortunately there wasn't time today, but he'll get to next time we hit the track, this week or next (yaw sensor dependant).

Thanks

this is a topic that needs to be addressed. iirc, many 63 owners were reporting these kinds of performance improvements with milage alone, stating their cars got faster after the ecu logged more miles. I think u need to establish a current baseline instead of comparing these runs to your runs with only 600miles on the odo.

I can only rack up the miles so fast and as I said prior our goal is to run in the 11s at as close as 120mph as possible with just tuning/filters. Regardless of the mileage discrepancy (we're talking 1500-1600 miles here not 5k) there's no way in hell my car would've come close to running what it did last night with the stock tuning.

Just took a quick cell phone vid of 1-2, 2-3 shifts from a dig. Being the technologically challenged idiot that I am, can someone send me a cell phone number to text the vid to then fwd it to my email (andrew@modernhorsepower.com) so I can post it?

LOL, I'd appreciate it. Jason?

Still going to tape the shifting tonight (less traffic) with a real camcorder but this should help in the meantime. Temp right now is around 80F.

Thanks
Andy

WOW!!!!

That is what all 63's should look like..You would be suprised at how few cars shift out of first @ 6800-7300, very very few most are quick shifting to 2nd by 6200-6400 rpm in any mode.

That was great.

Congrats Andy on your success at getting your cred backed up with proof. There were plenty of us that believed in you! Now all of the nay sayers have to shut their pie holes.

The shift video, which showed your videography skill , was exactly what you said it was going to be. Now I can't wait to feel the 7/8 that you are doing in JT's ECU/TCU.
