Let me get this straight, you are offering a comp (free or greatly discounted) C63 ECU tune to someone living in SOCAL for a neatural territory dyno shootout against a Powerchip ECU tuned C63? Sounds like you are stepping up to the plate with a no bull **** offer like that. Come on people, we could have results by the end of next week if somebody mans up quick.

Brad initially wanted to tune the same car, and while that sounds great on paper it wouldn't work in reality. A tune from anyone takes 200 miles or so to be fully learned by ECU/TCU. After 30 miles of hard driving you'll get most of the benefits, but not 100%. Obviously a testing scenario like that would favor whatever tune was in the vehicle to start, unless the owner decided to make passes/dyno then install a new ECU drive around for 200 miles and repeat the testing.

What would happen if you took a bone stock car, dyno'd it, applied Vendor #1 tune, re-dyno'd it, applied Vendor #2 tune, and re-dyno'd it? You'd have a baseline + two tune results. Even if the computer doesn't have enough time to fully exploit the tune, shouldn't get you a relative (%) comparison of the gains?

Here is a metric dyno for the Aussies out there
The end result = 400rwhp tuned, which may seem low, but this is a Mainline chassis dyno, referred to in Australia as the 'heart breaker' and folks go to the Dyno Dynamics looking for a big figure. True.....if only we had Dynojet we could (adds Dr Evil voice) make 1,000,000 horsepower
What blows me away is some of the real squiggly jagged lines, and how some tunes are showing > 50rwhp gains at 3000rpm, which Sherlock, is physically impossible for a C63+tune

My Car:
2010 C63 AMG w/ Kleemann K1 ECU Tune (No Charcoal Filters)
2,104 Miles
92 Octane (Shell)
Results:
w/ PLM Exhaust Manifolds (Best After Pull):
02/20/10 = 436.23 RWHP / 394.26 RWTQ
w/ Stock Exhaust Manifolds (Before Pulls):
01/14/10 = 422.53 RWHP / 382.50 RWTQ
01/14/10 = 426.19 RWHP / 385.00 RWTQ
01/14/10 = 423.01 RWHP / 384.06 RWTQ
02/19/10 = 423.64 RWHP / No Torque Recorded (Wanted a more current baseline, tach sensor was flaky*)

You guys are just looking at the "gains". Take a look at the difference between the STOCK profiles of the E63 vs CLS63 vs C63. You'll note that the STOCK C63 falls on its face hard (goes flat) at around 5k rpms (right when it would be getting up to speed). We all know that is simply the MB detuning (i.e. TB not openning all the way and richer conditions).
I only bring this up because it is clearly a much harder challenge to get a CLS63 tuned (and show lots of difference) than it will a C63, so you guys need to take C63 initial gains with that grain of salt.

Here's mine on the heartbreaker load bearing Mustang dyno. Pre and post tune overlayed. I don't have my sheets yet so it's just an iPhone snap shot. Not sure why the dyno redlined before my motor did...I think it woulda pulled up to 380...Add about 15% to compare to a dynojet...

My baseline Dyno was 408 with the Charcoals removed . and 466 after all the goodies . I gotta get the sheets and throw em up . Was done in Dead of summer too so i bet these cold days we should be able to put down a few more ponies

I don't really mind it, I was only interested in the gains after the tune since a dyno is only used for tuning purposes only. If I wanted to brag then I'd just go to a dynojet.

Did you dyno with Traction on ? Or in Dyno mode ? I had done a few pulls on a Dyno @ mustang magic back when the car had 5000 miles on it and it was reading 330-340 hp but it was done with Traction off but not in Dyno mode .

None fast enough!
Evosport Long Tube Headers with our evo2 Performance Race Exhaust System. Vehicle also has a preliminary evo2/Powerchip ECU Upgrade (v1). Working on another version of the ECU for this application. This is hand's down the BEST sounding 63 AMG we have done!
Car made +63H HP and +55 Torque (on CA 91). The SL63's are known to dyno pretty low in stock form.
Please feel free to email us with any questions.

By the way, why do they dyno so low? I've seen stock C63s dyno between 370 and 380 whp and the SL63 is supposed to have +67 hp more in stock form
