QUICK POLL: Hi guys, your thoughts? X5 4.8i or RangeRover Sport

Don't even waste your time with th RRS. I had one ordered and after it arrived, I immediately changed my mind after seeing the interior. The X5 has an interior worth its price and a better overall package. You should wait for the X5 with the new twin turbo V8. That engine will be replacing all of the v8's anytime now.

not RRSS
I test drove RRS-S in San Jose and into return back to the dealer. the engine blow up in smoke.....my wife say hell no.... as it was her choice to see it. Got Audi Q7 4.2 instead. yes not as fast or handle as good as the other 2. but is is the most comfortable. and lots of room.

X5... all the way.... Stay away from RR's You will spend more time sitting in the RR service center then you will actually be driving it.

I ordered 2008 X5 4.8i and absolutely love it. I would strongly recommend it. Great interior, lots of gadgets/options (for freaks like me) and rides like no other SUV I've owned. I ordered the 20" sport wheels and it comes with 315's in the rear. Looks mean and rides smooth as can be.

I have had an X5 and driven a RRsport, both are crap compared to an E55.
These cars are either to go off road or Haul in, so unless you wanna go
where the sun don't shine or you have 8 kids stick with the E55.

I drive a RR HSE and RR Supercharged - no comparison for forced-induction luxury.
Forget the Sport altogether.
And yes, they do spend time in the shop.

NO NO NO Range Rover. Speaking from knowing several owners they stay in the shop. Always something weird going on. They are as bad as the Jag.

I have a 2008 RRS and I love it....
Only have 2K miles on it though. It is not the supercharged as I have the E55 for crazy speed. That aside, it handels well for a SUV and is way more distinct and mean looking that an X5.
Also - sticker was $63K and i paid $53K ($10K discount of MSRP).

range
The range looks 100X better than the new X5. I had the older X5 and love it and my girl has a RR Sport Supercharged and the car is nice. She had some problems but the dealer up here is great. They have fixed pretty much anything she ask them too even if it had nothing to do with warranty.
on the other hand, the BMW dealership up here is horrible.
The RR looks great on some 24's
