I had 6000k's on my CL65 and loved them, perfect balance between color and lighting. The 6000k's take out the yellow that still resides in the factory 4300k's but still maintaing enough lumens to light up the night.

I always felt that while 8000k looked great when in another car seeing them come at you; the lighting was not enough (lack of lumens) and the coverage was even weaker in the rain.

As for the D2S part I think its right but check your manual just in case.

I bought 8000k for my SL600 about 5 months ago, you need freakishly small elvish/hobbit hands to install them on the R230, unless you loosen frnt bumper. Gotta get mine installed damnit!

Edit: if you have a 500 or 550, it may be doable (there's just zero room on the V12TT)

1 thing I know about bulb changing "Do NOT touch the new bulbs(glass area) w/your bare hands, any oil transfered to them could lead to instant blown bulb once turned on"

I guess I have small hands. The passenger side isn't too difficult. The driver side is a little bit more tricky. Remove the coolant reservoir for easy access! Mine got done within 15 minutes tops.
