Cool "Hidden" features about the E55 that are not very obvious

I have to agree... Using dyno mode will give you a very different result than just turning off ESP. Try turning off ESP then going around a corner, now try the same corner with dyno mode.... you will be doing 360's, believe me, I had a first hand experience with this, not really fun....
Turned it off one time in perfectly dry and warm conditions and took an off-camber corner with a bit more throttle than needed, and wham!! Out snapped, and I do mean snapped, the back end....I was around pert near 90 degrees when I caught it, and had I not caught it I'd have probably gone ***-end first into a curb with loads of people watching.
I'd always had limited slips in the high-powered cars prior to that one, and wasn't quite ready for how quick and uncontrolled the back and came out...Mercedes should really make LSD standard on all AMGs, the turds! It definitely makes a big difference on this one, *much* more progressive.

You will have to hit the search button to get into Dyno mode.

I have found two MB owners who were unaware that they had a six disc changer accessed by hitting that little silver button. Pretty lame, and not just specific to AMG's, but funny that many people don't know where the changer is.

They were probably expecting them to be conveniently located in either the glovebox or the trunk as with past (and, sadly, *still* some present) models!

Show me a 4 wheel drift with sustained power. I have never seen an E55 keep giving power after a moment of the front wheels sliding SIDEWAYS. You can argue with me anytime bro .
The other thing I wonder is how much traction you were dealing with? The reason I say what I do is from playing at the 1/4 mile track with DRs on. Note there is a huge difference between spinning the tires and laying rubber down. I could NEVER get the rears lit up well with just ESP off. i could spin them all day, but i couldn't grind the power into the pavement steadily.
I'll look up my book and list the exact parameters that are different. One that i remeber is the angle of lean between the flip sensors in the front end. They can not go past a threshold side to side. This feature is set to avoid a flip over, but dyno mode shuts it off 100%. Other features are that all SRS and safety features are completely shut off in Dyno mode.
Last thing.....why would MB put the time into having the Dyno mode if you got the exact same coding from pushing a button? It is simply a liability issue.

I've seen these types of threads on other car sites and found them very helpful for new owners (who knows, maybe some of the old-timers might learn something new too) . Basically, share with us some 'hidden' options/features that might not be evident to other E55 owners.
Maybe this can become a sticky if we can get some good info.

Hey Bisco!
It is basically used when the car is to be put up on the dyno, duh right,
but it turns off traction control COMPLETELY, turns off abs and turns the car into a smoking machine!!
Search it and you will find how to turn it on.... but be VERY AWARE, it is not for the faint of heart!!

While driving - You can close all the windows + sunroof by holding the recycle air button. If you press it one more time back to fresh air mode, the windows + sunroof will open back up to what you had it set on before.
