Hello everyone, first time posting but a long time lurker. A future E63AMG owner looking to buy within the next few months, I came across this ad on ebay:

An '08 with 8000+ mile for $56850!?! Is that the going rate these days or is there a catch? Please help out a newbie, thanks!

there has got to be something wrong with it. Salvage title or something?? Do a car fax on it first. If it is clean that is the steal of the century. I would not have posted that. I'm not that far away from it. I may go check it out. Just kidding lol I'm not sure how ebay works but it says starting bid. I'm guessing if you put in 60K it will say minimun not reached. When the auction is over they can decide if they want your bid or not. I'm guessing they will never sell it for less then $60 but who knows. The economy sucks.

Check the vehicle report. It shows 2 previous owners( 1st owner 11 mos, 2nd approx 10 mos) , an accident ("04/04/2008 - Illinois Police Report - Accident reported, Vehicle damaged in multiple places, Vehicle towed").

Thanks Liquiddi! Per your suggestion, I checked out the carfax report and guess what... "4/4/08 Police report: accident reported, vehichle damaged in multiple places and towed..." I guess when something smells fishy, go with your senses. BTW, your car is HOT and has inspired me to move up my purchase date.

man that sucks but I had a feeling there was something up! Better to find out now than later. I would not give up the search though. The dealer I bought mine at has a fully loaded iridum gray 08 for $70K.

Iridium gray is my second favorite color next to the black, how many mile on the 08? I've been holding off the idea of buying the current body style, but after seeing the new design, I'm now fully convinced that I will not find a better looking 4 door sedan with the performance to please a novice such as myself.

it has like 150 miles on it if it is still there. It is at Plaza Motors in St. Louis MO. They want to get rid of it badly.

Fletcher in Fremont CA just sold a new E63 with EVERYTHING including P30 for $86K. The CLK63 BS went for $115K.
