E63 Front Brakes - how much should I pay?
http://www.evosport.com/product/prod...VO.BRK.M5K.R03
Actually the e63 front rotors are roughly $750- 1000 each, as they are the 2 piece design, pair them with the cost of pads and the $2700 is pretty fair coming from a dealership. You can of course get it done cheaper by an independent, we would charge closer to $2100-2200 for the front brake change, as we get all mb components from the dealer.
Also someone mentioned the evosport rotors, the fronts will work, however I'm not completely sure that the rears will work.
If your brakes are low, have them measure the rotor thickness to see if they actually do in fact need to be replaced.

As an alternative, you can have the rotors turned IF they are still within specs. Many dealerships do not turn rotors and replace them instead.
I would buy OEM pads for your car and take the pads to a shop to install your pads.
Unless your rotors are warped or really worn.. no need to change.
If you really want to go the extra mile.. have a Autozone/Kragen or some big brand store "turn" the rotors or shave them slightly..
they usually run from $8 to 15 bucks a piece.
IF you really want to save money.. search this forum for a recent thread about brakes.. plenty of ways to buy parts on line.
I have to say.. thank God I don't have those multi piece rotors..
2. You should ALWAYS check minimum thickness, and if you're still within spec, there is no need to replace your rotors pre-maturely
3. Since it's essentially a brembo rotor, you should be able to find replacement friction rings and replace them using the original rotor hats for the 2-piece E63 rotors.
4. I have no real way of knowing, but I'm willing to bet the 1 piece E55 rotor will be a direct replacement for the 2-piece E63 rotor and will be MUCH MUCH cheaper. Again, unless you are planning to track the car, there shouldnt' be any difference day to day.

I'm on my back looking in or I mean up..
