West Coast Extreme - Part 2

Okay, now that I've given you guys a couple of days to rest, it's time to plan our next big event This time, I need to take some votes as our options at Famoso are limited.... Famoso will be booked every weekend from March to mid October, and the only available date in February is the second weekend, which just happens to be Saturday, February the 14th When I mentioned to some of the guys at the track that the 14th was our only available date in February, some of the women started chasing me down so Famoso is out unless you guys are willing to do the event on a weekday for maybe a night session from 5 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Here are the options so far:

1) Famoso on a Friday night session maybe the 20th or 27th

2) Famoso on Saturday, the 14th (I know it's a long shot but figured to try anyways).

3) I spoke to management at Fontana, and they told me that they were also booked, but we may be able to get a Sunday or a Friday in February.

4) Sacramento is always available (I know it has bad traction, but it is almost at 0 ft elevation, and I have spoken to the owner about the traction problems: if we can collect an additional $1500 for VHT, we'll get very good prep).

I appreciate any input you can give me.....

sac

Its about time some of us northern cali cars get in it. Some of us don't have the time to go all the way down to so cal.

Also IF VHT is all it takes to get sac traction then it seems they are much more flexible on day/time.

They are definitely much more flexible (likely because not a lot of events or people go there)... According to management, it would take lots of VHT and 3 extra workers, and a couple of other minor things to make it work. If you guys are interested, I'll make it happen either way

Please note that what makes Famoso an attractive choice is that it is in central California (3 hours of drive for South California guys and 3.5 hours away from North California guys). Also, it is at a fairly low elevation (635 ft compared to Fontana and other tracks). However, the DA at Sacramento is always better..... if we can just fix the traction problems.

I vote for option #4. Sacramento is a very fast track and with good prep people in the low 11's will possible be dipping in the high 10's. Just think a couple of weeks ago I ran faster times with my street tires then I did with my DR's at Famoso. Famoso is a awesome track but if some of you are looking for better DA Sacramento might be the answer. As for the VHT, I'm willing to pay extra for the prep...it will be well worht it.

Long as you pay Tony to spray that track and it's cool. You'll just SMOKE at Sacto.

Hard part is getting those SOB's to spray.

Kinda jerks about it.

I might go up there soon just to get break into the 11.3's and convince you guys to come on up. There are a few more things I need to work out on my car and after that I'll hit
sacramento up.

I would like to give Sacramento a shot. Guess I'm buying a trailer.

If that doesn't work, Famoso at night would absolutely ROCK.

Oh, and Valentines day is fine, if my girlfriend loves me she will understand. If she leaves me, I'll have plenty of extra money to get a nitrous setup.

Mo - What's the total cost difference including the additional prep at Sacramento compared to Famoso's regular rate?

Not sure but I think my buddy Blueknight will be up there this weekend, depending on whether or not he finds DR's or not. If I go will you meet me up there? If we could get a few MB's to commit I could make plans to head up. I'm hoping Mo and his crew will come on up for visit. Let me know!

Night is better than the day, Famoso gets COLD at night and the temps drop like a rock when the sun goes down.
