Part of designing new Mid-Section was creating new flanges. Stock flange, on the right is 55 mm in diameter and only allows 51 mm (2'') pipe to be bolted on to the manifolds, new flange is 63 mm and allows 2.25'' pipe to be bolted on.
As I mentioned before the front section will be modular, allowing one to bolt it to stock, evosport, renntech or our shorties. There is also will be a front section for Kleemann headers, as well as full 3'' race setup. Either will be available with or without metal catalytic converters.
First prototype will done later this week.
I will have more pictures and pricing as well.

Subscribed and waiting to see if this is a true bolt on for DIYers at home with a floor jack, jackstands, and hand tools (ie no torches,,etc).....My oem e55 sounds sedate....

I have Vadim's mid section X-pipe and it definitely sounds mean. At first I thought it was little on the loud side but after driving with it couple of weeks I'm really beginning to love it. It got a little louder inside but definitely no too bad, but when you get on it....wow! I'll post up a sound clip when I get a chance.

. With the metallic catalysts, you remain emissions compliant and you don't have to clear CEL codes. Random has a nice selection of universal fit round metallic catalysts in tube sizing compatible with what VRP is doing. Lot's of us already have X-pipes or straight pipes in lieu of the factory resonator, so why force us to redo that section of the exhaust (i.e., no need to have TWO X-pipes in the system)? Plus, some of our X-pipes are superior to what's shown in the VRP photo above. Just sayin' . . . . .

Agree with you about keeping cats and just using racing cats,
however its is NOT true that racing cats like Kleeman or RANDON will not thrown cells,, they do and can,, I asked Kleeman and know like 2 people that have had this happen..
it all depends on the CEL count of the replacement CATS,,
the OEN mercedes puts on the car is 600 count,, primary and secondary,
so if you use a 200, cell, count I know this will throw a cell..
if you use a 400, I think you can get away with them,, without cell warning..
the way around this is to either clear them in ECU< or just put a spacer on the O2 sensor location to move O2 sensor a few MM's awaay from the hole out of the direct flow.. of the air..
I am looking at getting the Kleemans headers, and they say that their 200 cell cat will likely throw a cell warning but can fix it,,
I suspect if you use their headers and 200 cell primary, and then use a 400,or 600 seconday, perhaps this is avoidable.. though

We need to find out. That seems to have the perfect combination of strait pipe, x-pipe, and large enough cross-over. Whoever posted it needs to give it's source cause I'm sure they will sell a few of them.

Is this a quality X-pipe for my E500?
I am not sure what makes a "good" X-Pipe. I am thinking about buying his 1 month old X-Pipe that was installed on his 72 SS El Camino. It was professionally built in a local muffler shop. The X-pipe itself is 2-1/4 inches in diameter. When I tried to look up the specs for the OEM E500 exhaust Diameter to make sure it will fit, I found inconsistant numbers. Some said it was 3in some said it was 2.36in (60mm x 2mm). I need some help to try and figure this out. Thanks,
