Ladies and Gentlemen:

Saturday February 21st, 2009 - 1st Participant Straps Down at 8am Sharp!!!!

A few members have asked me about maybe setting up a pre-season dyno day in order to prepare for this season. It will give everyone a chance to see if their cars are running right and how they stack up against each other. I have spoken to Al @ CPT and he has graciously offered his Dyno to us at a discounted rate. This will be a laid back event - give the local crew a place to shoot the breeze, and see who's going to be making some noise this season.

As many have probably heard/read - I really like the Dyno Dynamics machine used at CPT and there is no one in Chicago that I know of who has done as many MBs as they have. For those of you not familiar with CPT, they are an Audi/VW/Porsche/MB shop located in Melrose Park, IL. They are an authorized Kleemann, VRP, and RENNTech dealer as well.

http://www.gocpt.com

Info on their dyno:

http://www.gocpt.com/dyno.php

The pricing will be:
3 pulls with printouts will be available for $75. Wideband carries an additional $25 charge (NOT per pull, total).

We are limited to 10 spots. This is a first come, first serve offering, so please email me if you would like to commit. I expect to see JRCart on here ASAP, since there have not been any black series dyno there yet. I also think Marko will be making an appearance and we may have Victor from VRP join us if his schedule allows. The list will be updated accordingly:

LOL, I might dyno, but I've already dyno'd both my cars since the last round of upgrades. I might throw the 65 on there again, we'll see. I wanted to leave the room for others, and if there's time I will probably dyno as well.

Count me in if it doesn't snow. Is the driveway to CPT sloped? I'll feel pretty silly if I have to get a semi with a liftgate to pick it up and take it into the parking lot and back out.

nick - there is a slight incline to the shop but the main entrance is on a side street. I'm not quite sure what you mean by your post, but they seem to get their race cars in and out of the shop no problem...

I just mean that the car I plan to bring sits low enough that I can barely fit a 2x4 under the front bumper.

Interesting nick. Their dyno is not in-ground, and with that little clearance it may be an issue. Maybe you should call CPT and talk to Al about it, I'd hate you to get it out there only to not be able to get it on the dyno. I've seen some slammed cars on there, but that sounds pretty damn low.

Marcus, I would love to attend, however I am going to be out in California that weekend running the Black Series at Willow and doing some shifter kart racing and possibly some drag racing as well.

Marcus: what time is the event scheduled to be over? Would it be possible to do a run to JR Alexanders afterward for lunch? Last years get together was alot of fun....
