Kleemann Mufflers Installed... Pics...
I wound up getting my hands on the Kleemann mufflers Cory had up for sale recently, and honestly while most of you probably thought it was a steal, Cory made it very clear that the mufflers were meant to fit a Kleemann rear valence and that fab work would be involved to get them to fit a stock AMG rear valence. Additionally, I was/am not a fan of the Kleemann tips, so that would also have to be replaced with stock ones. In spite of these hurdles, I really like Kleemann and saw this as a unique opportunity to have something a little bit different on my car while still staying in line with my personal criteria when it comes to the mods I've done. I had the guys at CPT take on the task of making these bad boys fit.
Since this exhaust is pretty rare and inspite of my best efforts I was only able to find very limited information about them, I thought this thread might provide some more information on them as well as show people what other options are out there for exhaust. I don't have any sound clips yet... but to give you an idea... on a scale of 1 to 10 if 1 is stock and 10 is straight pipes, these would come in at a 3 or 4. I still have the resonators, I still have stock cats, and I still have stock headers. As these get replaced, it will definitely get louder so I am actually really happy with them being where they are at now. It is louder than stock, and sounds great, but it's not crazy...
So here is what we started with...
Nice looking pieces...

Kleemann tips...

Yikes... that's a good few inches it sticks down...

Doesn't line up... not made for this valence...

And voila... Kleemann tips gone!

Kleemann stamped on the mufflers...

Nice tight fitment, but still allowing for room around the mufflers so they don't rattle against the heatshields/body/etc...

All the piping from the muffler to the tips is obviously custom. We kept the AMG tips in the stock location (even slightly staggered, just like stock), maintaining that sleeper look

Doesn't stick down 6" from the stock location anymore!
I have a few more pics of the car on the ground I am going to post later. You can see the mufflers just a little bit underneath the tips, but I like it that way. Just a little "hint" - if you know what you are looking for, you will see it, if you don't, you are none the wiser...

. The mufflers look very good and very high quality. Do they provide any increase in performance or exhaust flow or are they mainly just different in sound?
MB_Forever:
I haven't dyno'd with them, but I don't expect them to add much power. They definitely flow better than stock, but I am not expecting much gain from just mufflers.
