Who has the Chrysler aftermarket warranty?
Personally I've never even seen a warranty that you can get under $2000 unless it's a basic 4 cylinder car.
I think you got a super steal -- probably something nobody else would be able to get again. Most companies will not underwrite a service-contract for an AMG. The ones that do usually charge $4000+ for a comprehensive coverage.
I originally had a plan by Prizm (a few dealers who had experiences with them said they were reputable) but I paid $4600 for 3 yrs, 45k additional miles. After I found the Chrysler, I cancelled it, for obvious reasons.
I went directly to Chrysler since they can start the coverage right over the phone without any inspection and hassle. You pay $200 more but save on the time and money (and risk) for not having to go to the dealership for an inspection.
We all are using Chrysler service contracts directly. No middle man.
For example, should I have bought my warranty before 60k.. I would of saved $800.
If my car was 2 years newer, I would of saved about the same.
Btw. The new policies are unlimited miles with $100 deductible. Which makes a big difference.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
I let my Warranty exp on past W220 Sclass & literally got mugged by stealer for the 2 yrs I kept it.....NEVER AGAIN!

If they charging $675 a year, do you really think they could survive as a business when MB charges about that for one year of coverage?
I have the Daimler Max. Care warranty, and they are the best out there.. I was turned on to them, by this forum. (thank you). I only bought a 50,000 mile max. care, since my car is leased. Ran me about $1300...
7yr./100k will cost about double that, $2600-$2800 give or take.. I have no plans to buy out my car, the residual is not even close to what the car is worth..

Yes, even at $675/year they will make money. They are not going to pay out a large amount of dough per policy. Thats why insurance companies try to write as many policies as they can. That way, all the losses from the policies they have to pay out are subsidized by the ones that they don't.
This is the 4th service agreement I've purchased for the cars I owned. Each time, I wrote out a check for about $3000 for each car. Did I ever need $3000 in repairs on each car? NOPE. I've lost out on each one. They've made every buck on me in the past.
But hey , it's insurance, its all about recoverying from the unexpected -- and having that peace of mind when you sleep at night.
So yeah, at $675/year.... yes, they're still making money.

I too thought the plan you mentioned starts from the original purchase date... if its ADDITIONAL 5 yr/70k AFTER the factory 5yr/50k warranty expired, then I'm in.
For Pre-Owned Vehicle Chrysler Service Contracts, start and expiration dates are based solely on the purchase date and duration of the particular plan term you purchase.
For example: if you purchase a 2-year/30,000-mile CSC Pre-Owned Plan on July 28, 2008 for your 2003 Jeep® vehicle that currently has 50,000 miles on it; your coverage would extend until July 27, 2010 or 80,000 miles, whichever occurs first.

It doesn't get any better than that!

The purchase is quick over the phone. Only 5 minutes. And you only need $100 to start. Why keep waiting?
