Congrats, start out with changing the supercharger belt. That may very well fix the problem. Good luck. I love white E55's

Nice ride! I just had a similar issue in which I was hearing some rattling. The belt tensioner was worn out and the bearings were chattering. The belt may take care of your chirp issue for the interim, but if you continue to hear chattering, you should look at the tensioner. I have a warranty but it would have cost ~$600. I suggest you take it to an Indy or do it yourself. Its really not a hard fix. If you go to the dealer expect to pay several $$$.

Lower it, wheels, tint and get rid of that front plate. Very nice... I always loved the white E55s.

Very nice and as suggested above, start with the SC belt and see if the "odd" noise goes away. The SC chirp is normal and I happen to like it but you may also have belt slip caused by a worn belt. The tensioner tends to make a really loud whine (almost like a much louder SC) when warm if it goes bad (or at least mine did).

BTW, If you have "all the options", someone stole your Distronic system when you weren't looking!

It's probably more likely to be the Idler pully and not the tensioner pulley (mine just got fixed) and the sound you describe (rattling form the left) sounds exactly like the experience I had.

Easy way to check... take a 17mm socket and release the tension on the supercharger belt by turning the tensioner bolt Anti-clockwise. Then feel if there is any play on the idler pully... mine had a good 3mm in "slop", and spinning it made horrible noises.

Chirp is normal. Belt tensioner is not hard to replace. I would take the belt off first and spin the tensioner and see if it makes noise or if it rolls smooth.
