according to the article it does not.
I may still destroy a SL65BS. Both the SL65BS and CLK63BS are road cars, built and designed to be road cars. This is more of a race car and may not even be street legal. Somewhat like a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, but maybe even more extreme.

This thing will have 500'ish horsepower, which is not going to be sufficient to "destroy" a 65 Black Series. Also, have you seen a 65BS? It's as much of a track car as this thing is. Although Audi's usually have some trick AWD system, and if that's the case here then that's certainly an advantage on a road course. But it will not "destroy" a 65 BS on the straightaways, or in a 1/4 at the strip, or especially at higher speeds when the AWD actually becomes a hindrance.
It's going to be like anything else, better in some regards, worse in others. Maybe if it had 700+hp it would "destroy" a 65 BS in all categories, but with only 500hp and saddled with a power-sapping AWD system, there will be MANY areas where a 65 will outshine it.

Read between the lines man, they don't want to release the exact figure for whatever reason, but logic dictates that if the horsepower rating was 550+ they'd say "greater than 550hp". If it was 600+ they'd say "greater than 600hp". They're not going to downplay it, they'd boast about it. Get where I'm going?

We can argue all day but we'll see when it's released. I would hazard to say this car will be like the E46 M3 GTR. Factory produced race platforms that were never ever meant to be driven on the street.
By the way, I just looked it up and this car weighs 2,755lbs compared to the SL65 Black Series at 4,342lbs.

e1000, great pics - are they from that same site? You probably realize, but you missed an important one when it comes to putting down fast lap times

I would absolutely sell kidney's to have this beast esp if able to register for regular street terrorizing on occasion. It looks like a Bugatti Veyron on Steroidzzzzz!
I can't imagine how badazzz this will look in Satin black w/Red calipers![devil](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/devil.gif)

Fantastic! This is a good alternative to the Porsche GT3-RS racer.
Note that this is a RACE CAR not street car. As such, Mercedes does not have any BS car that will compete on the track. Also, as much as I love and lust after the CLK-DTM, it is also still a street car at heart and is at a disadvantage.
The whip that thing, you are going to need a C63 or CLK DTM race car and then it will probably be a good view of the Audi in the rear view but also, maybe not.

Maybe this AMG race taxi would have a chance against the Audi. (Private Lounge link, you may need to sign in)

You did mention that the Audi is a race car so I guess you've got a typo in there about the C63.

AUDI makes this car now stock its the R8 V10 with the lambo engine..
its about $40k more than the 8 cyl audo R8, but it does have like 510 hp,
and is very fast,,, never heard of the GT3 name though,, must be a custom job cause AUDI does not call it the GT 3
Audi calls it the R8 V10 5.2 FSI I believe..
