Drag Radials / Wheels/ Slicks? Need experienced opinions.
I have been doing more reading/searching and I seeing people write that Nitto is great for "daily driven" drag radial. I dont need a daily drag tire, I want a dedicated track setup.
What tire/wheel combos do you guys recommend to get to that 1.6x short time? At this point I have two 18x9.5 CLS wheels available, but if there are better(smaller and lighter) wheels I can always sell my CLS/Nitto combo.
TIA
thanks for the responses !!
btw i can't find the infamous light kosei wheel anywhere with 9.5 widths
, not even CCW's could beat that weight...

Not bad IMO. Just tell um you are another crazy AMG guy. They are getting a kick our of us down there. They have the MT's in stock just for us.
FYI- They screwed up on offset of my wheels several times and in the end all I got was a crappy spacer
But I think I was the first W208 to run them. They have fitment for W211 E55's already. I might sell mine if anyone local wants them
Mine was about the same price. I have yet to spin them at the track. No drama, just hook and go

Hoosier also makes 315/35-17 and 335/35-17 drag radials that have a small enough diameter to work with our cars.
The Hoosiers are incredibly light: only 21 lbs for the 275/40-18, 26 lbs for the 315/35-17, and 27 lbs for the 335/35-17.
My best 60' on them so far (total of 8 runs) is 1.70. That's not quite a fast as I've gone on regular street tires (1.69) but I'm still fiddling around looking for the optimal air pressure.
do you guys race in dyno mode or just TC off?
UPDATE: I did throw on my 305s last night. I drove around for about 50-60 miles and with the car raised there is no rub. With the car lowered, there is some rub on the outside. Going to try them at Atco tonight.
I would def get 16"s right away if there was acheaper alternative.
Anyone know if these will work? They are popular in the Crossfire forum in combination with MT ET Street 26x10.5x16

Good luck at ATCO tonight!
I would not recommend running a bias ply tire in the back and a radial tire in the front. MT ET Street is a bias ply tire, just get the MT ET Street Radial
I'm not sure if those wheels have the proper offset for your car

I got my rims from Tire Rack. I searched under a C230 that came with 16 inch wheels. $89 a wheel is what i paid. But I dont have big rear brake calipers though.
