E55 or E63 SPARETIRE

Has anyone going somewhere far and gets a flat and shreads the tire ? and to make things worse gets handicaped with your stock sparetire going home?

I was wondering if anyone knows if the E55 wheel/tire fits on a E63 and inside the trunk? I ask, because I want to get a fullsize E55 wheel/tire inplace of my sparetire.

All "spare" tires are junk , since the E63 and E55 are staggered you would need TWO full size spares and or convert to 265/40/18 all around then you could carry a full size spare with safety and performance consistant. Since you have a staggered set up which wheel would you carry?

EDIT: just saw you have 030 so you could do 265/30/19 all the way around, and pick up a full size spare on a OEM take off rim equipped with same tire, then just rotate them every 5k miles. Your tires will last longer as well

So the E55 wheel/tire should fit the E63 on bolt pattern? I don't mind the width, as long as it fits the vehicle and inside the spare compartment flat will be fine.

Yes you can use a full size E55 spare, but you still have a potential ride height issue. The spare is 26" tall which tire will you carry a front or rear?

The height is more of a problem than the width.

I have the same problem, 275-30-19 9.5 in the rear and 245-19-35 8.5 in the front. I was going to get a rim and tire from tire rack, and just keep it in the trunk. A 245-19-35 8.5 would work all around in case I got a flat until I could get it fixed, would'nt that work? I never use my trunk for anything, what do you think?

u should carry a FRONT full spare because u will have a hard time fittng rear wheel on the front, but not vice versa

thats what my 745 came with

Vetts have the same problem. They solved it will run flats.

AMGs suspensions are tunned for the tire size that they come with. Changing factory tire sizes affect the performance. If performance is not the issue why buy an AMG? I rather trade off with run flats and somewhat being limited in case a flat is encountered with a run flat.

Just my own $.02

Actually, the E63 030 does not come with 19s like the CLS63 030 does..... the rims are still 18" but are 9.5" (in the rear) instead of 9.0 as in the non-p30 E63s.
