Hey I'm interested....although it's just the 1/8, I'd love to go run on a real track and get timed. Will we need a helmet?

Count me in.

"All racers and passengers are required to wear long pants, shoes and a shirt with sleeves. Racers competing with cars quicker than 8.59 (1/8 mile) are required to wear an approved helmet (See NHRA Rulebook). No passengers are allowed in vehicles faster than 8.59"

Never been on a track so this is and ignorant questions..... Are we gonna break 8.59?

Unless you let off you will run faster than 8.59. You can use my helmet, not a problem, plus you can run once w/o and then if it is too fast borrow mine., They will just say hey you need a helmet

Get there early closer to 4pm the better. There is food ..drinks..

Sean you can use my helmet , the first run they will just warn you and tell you get a helmet...

This is a fun place cause there is a huge crowd and hardly ever a benz, they have a real fun time with our cars. I am very close to stock now aside from my 295 rears.

I'll be down for hitting it up on a Thursday. I should be back down next week for a graduation party and I'm sure I could come up with a good excuse to get out of the house.

What's considered a good 1/8 mile time and trap for a stage III or IV.

That sounds about right. I just checked my 11.5 run and my 1/8 mile time was 7.5 @ 96-97.

I don't know if I was the only one there tonight, but I didn't find any other Mercedes there. Yeah it was lots of fun, and the crowd was great! This was my first time on the track with the Beast, but I think my time was poor. Only thing done to my E55 is K&N filters (which, honestly, made the car feel slower after I put it in). With a passenger (about 110lbs) going down the track with me, here's the results:

R/T: 1.024
60ft: 2.012
330: 5.449
1/8: 8.263
MPH: 86.96

I know the R/T is a joke, as I stared at the green light like a dumb a** before I took off. Are these times normal?

That is a great 1st time out.

I am so sorry , I did not think anyone was going so I stayed home!! Crap , man props to you for heading out. Your car did good and your RT is actually only 1/2 second off as Irwindale is a .500 light.

OK lets do this , I will not miss again, as next Thursday I will be there 4 sure.
lets get a list going here for next Thursday.

Great run, for your first time, did you have a helmet?

Yeah I actually borrowed one from a friend, but I wasn't warned until I finished my 2nd pass, and by then it was time to go home! The time slip dude told me next time NO passengers and HELMET! I was thinking of going down the track with 4 people in the car next time....that would be a scene.

Only thing is, make sure you do wear (or bring) pants. I did find one guy that came in an ML63, but they wouldn't let him run because he was wearing shorts.

So the et and trap is on par with stock E55s?

I have run as many as six different E55's at Irwindale and 8.1-8.5 85-89 is the range. Your car is actually capable of 8.0-8.10's you just need to lower your 60 ft time to the 1.85-1.90 range.

So did you run the 8.2X with a passenger? Did you go heads up with any other cars?

Did the crowd like the E55? :-)

Thanks Juicee,

My first pass I was solo as my friend chose to go to the restroom at the wrong moment as my lane was pulling up to staging. My first pass as against a Charger R/T.....no chance. I had a tad slower ET (8.399)and a hight trap (87.09), which I'm still figuring out. My second run i was up against an old Stang. He got me on the launch, but I was creeping up on him slowly, just missed catching him at the end.

I think I did have some fans, as I was driving back past the stands there were cheering, and more than a few people commented "there's that mercedes"!

So come, lets go give the crowd some more hoot next Thursdays!
