I bought the 5 year 70k mile Prem Chrysler warranty when I bought my SL, it's proven to be OUTSTANDING coverage!!!
1st replaced collapsed Engine/Tranny mounts & Intercooler Pump w/labor $4500, about 5 months after ownership $100 ded + FREE Car rental entire time in shop.
Fast fwd to yesterday (took her in for charging/power drainage problem, & center console latch prob)
Got call from my Fav SA early today, they traced Power Drainage problem to the Navigation/Head-Unit = ENTIRE BRAND NEW Navigation/Head-Unit + Full center console replacement, claim $7,500.00 odd dolla's
Soo pumped on this, brand new Navi screen scratch free & purdy
Did I mention this Prem Chrysler Warranty kick's AZZZ? Also FREE Car Rental for entire repair time, besides $100 Deductible it's all gratis
Anyone on the fence do NOT hesitate buying this Warranty, it's a necessity on ANY MB.

Do you know if I can purchase this warranty on my car? I have a 2004 E55 with apx. 47K mi. I am debating between this one, and one a local Chevy dealership now has that my favorite SA claims is better than their GMPP extended service contract on GM vehicles. And this one is only $1800 for my cost.

Well that's good to know! When I was asking him about aftermarket warranties, he wasn't too hot about them, but to hear Chrysler took care of this is great news! So how was the process? You take your car to the dealer and they say ok this is how much this is and then they call Chrysler? How long till Benz gets paid? And the rental, what did you get? I hope you didn't get stuck with a POS Camry w/ a SB AG plate lol. I noticed the other day that they have new 3 series loaners...

Ricker, do you mind me asking what the price on the 5/70K warranty was? I also believe in purchasing the extra warranties and always have on my other cars. One repair bill usually pays for the warranty cost, often 3-times over on the first claim.
I also know that stealerships typically make big profits off of these warranties, so mark-up can be substantial. That's why I'm asking the price for comparison purposes.
A POS Camry(looks like the new E class lol) w/ a SB AG plate, but for free it's fine... The deal is you can come up w/funds & get your car fixed quickly & then wait for the Warranty Co to repay you in full 8 wks later...
But the free rental stays w/you till it's completed in my case about 10 days, on average about 7-10 days, I'm fine w/it I have other cars plus a Camry to beat the living snot outt've every chance I get

If memory serves it was $3500 rolled into my loan, when I bought her from an outt've state Dealership, then shipped to CA on 18 whlr, that was kool!!Originally Posted by mugatu22

If you add in typical rental rate @ $35 a day x 10 days = $350 + $7,500 I'm certain they have some incidentals to bring tot to $8,000.00 it's already paid for itself nearly 4 times over @ 1.7 yrs of ownership

Excellent price, and even better service w/the rental & full replacement of the defective parts. You did indeed choose wisely!
Very cool to know, thanks for posting your experience...it'll weigh heavily on my mind when it comes time to buy my warranty. Cheers.

Thericker...just to clarify. You need to front the $7500, MB turns in the paperwork to Chrysler, Chrysler pays you back for principal and car rental in 2 weeks? If that is the case, did you have to keep following up with Chrysler?Originally Posted by Thericker

No to the above, the warranty company pays the bill with a auth. number and credit card. You walk out ONLY paying $100 Ded., not a cent more. Rental car and all.. No fronting money.

Thanks...I thought that was the process too...just pay $200 deductible. I was just thinking that their might be a delay in payment to MB and that MB would not release the car until payment was received even though the car was done...AND to get the car earlier you were forced to pay up front and then get the monies from MB when Chrysler paid.Originally Posted by Taximan1

The dealer ran my card and held the charge open until Chrysler paid which was 2 days. (That was in the good old days of easy credit for companies that were functionally bankrupt but still operating.)
I paid 2.7k for the warranty, received well over 5k in benefits (11 months) and then received a refund of $1,300 when I canceled.

This is great news!
Imagine what would have happened if it was ANOTHER company. The results would have been completely different.
YOU: Hi Mr. SA, what's the status?
SA: We're still waiting for ABC Warranty to respond.
YOU: Hi Mr. SA, what's the status?
SA: ABC Warranty said that they're going to send down an inspector
sometime tomorrow.
INSP: Woah! This black SL has tinted windows and aftermarket rims!
That's a red-flag for a "modified" car.
SA: Sorry, ABC Warranty wouldn't cover your car. They placed a big
"DENIED" stamp on the service-order once they saw your car.
YOU: I wished I have gotten the Chrysler Warranty.

I'm sorry Jon, I should've been more clear (I work late, & was tired) NO Credit card hold or anything, Don't even pay the $100 Deductible UNTIL I pick the Car up after said repairs completed.Originally Posted by AMGfan

What I should've made clearer was, it does take a few days maybe 5-6 to clear & MB gets money from Warranty co. then they fix your car etc... The other option if you want/need it fixed ASAP instead of 7-10 day total (on big jobs like mine) you have the OPTION to pay-up front then get REIMBURSED DIRECTLY from Chrysler about 6-8 wks later.
I obviously opted to wait the additional few days extra w/free rental...
