AMG E55 poser. Caught him while driving the minivan with kids in town. I pulled next to him, rolled down my window and yelled "nice car!" Sincerely of course. He waived back and smiled. As I drove away I laughed to myself. He didn't even know I was sarcastic.

The next light he rolled his window down and asked "can I ask why you are taking pictures of my car". I said you just won the biggest looser contest on the Mercedes forum for putting those AMG badges on your 320.

I got that too when I found a C320 badged "C32 AMG" parked next to my SL @ pharmacy, chic was nearly irate! Why are you taking pix of my AMG? Didn't even have AMG body panels, brakes, or exhaust + rockin' Kompressor side badges
I just laughed & said wow are you sure that's a real C32? she flipped out yelling "YES IT IS" & stormed off w/fanbelt screech Pix are in this thread somewhere...

I dunno why almost every forum on MBWorld has a thread like this. "Poser" this, "Poser" that.
I certainly haven't badged my 2008 W211 which I bought used with the AMG or E63 or V8 or Kompressor or whatever. I do have AMG parts like the bodykit, rims, spoiler, tailpipes, and do think that my car looks better with these AMG parts... **** if I could afford a E63 or E55, I sure would have liked to buy that car instead of the one I have now. But even if someone didn't have any AMG parts and had just the badge... should that make a difference? To each his own.
My pops who is like 75 bought a brand new 2008 S500. He has had a 2006 S500, a 2002 SL350, and 197x 450 SEL. My mom who is like 70 bought a brand new 2010 GLK. She had a 2007 E350, E420, and S500. On one of my dad's car, the Dealership actually threw on the AMG badges. Should you guys be laughing and pointing fingers at my dad for that? He's rather old but doesnt know/care... why should you?
It's sort of like that black kid walking down the street in the ghetto with a DUKE T-shirt on OR some poor homeless white kid thats wearing some B-Ball gear. You think MJ or Lebron or Kobe point fingers and laugh at them saying dream on?
People should be able to dream. Want to dream... without being berated. About possibly owning a REAL AMG like most of you finger pointing, laughing clowns. They would love to own one BUT CAN'T. Some of you who are more fortunate, act with less class than most of those that can't afford.
Show some class and shrug your shoulders the next time you see a "Poser." There are far more important things in life that deserve your attention.

Wow you sound very insecure. This thread is for fun. I, for one am a purist when it comes to cars. AMG is a pure hand built vehicle. I would never falsify any car to be cool or look better. Would you put 5.0 badges on a 4 cyl Mustang? I wouldn't. You either own a AMG or you don't. I don't right now but, I don't tell people I drive one. Imagine if somebody asked you you about ya non AMG car? What would you say?
I don't laugh at old people but, he is still posing if he drives a non AMG car.
The MJ-Kobe comment is weak. You can dream and wear a shirt in the ghetto or a rich neighborhood. Thats expressing a SPECIFIC REAL THING. That person might want to be a pro basketball player. Driving a car with fake badges is saying I play in a junior leauge but, I tell everybody I play in the NBA.
For me, in life it's all about credibility. It's ok to dream but, just make sure it's for real.

putting on an AMG badge on a non-AMG car is like wearing a fake Rolex and showing it off to everyone as if it's the real deal. AMG4EmE's analogy to Lebron and Kobe gear is way off.
