Because since the AMG factory is in Europe, AMG cars in the US are not "real" AMG cars since they are not in their homeland. I guess, in a way, we are posers.

Why would anyone do that?? How can you tell it was an e350 and not an e500...I know its pretty easy to spot a fake E55/E63 but e500?

It's been a rough month in Chicago:

Poseur 1: C230 "AMG"

Poseur 2: CLK "AMG"

Poseur 3: "CL55 AMG" V8 Kompressor badges, CL55 badging, TWO tailpipes.

Weaksauce, all of them. I didn't get a pic of the C23 AMG, but he got a taste of the longtubes, I assure you all.....

The CL55 could've been the 2000 model. Don't know which exactly, but the earlier CLs (AMGs) only came with two pipes.

No problem with the earlier models, just the "V8 Kompressor" badging on them.....

It's a nice car, supercharger or not....leave it the F alone, IMO.

This guy doesn't even know where to put the emblems correctly.

Note the V8 emblem on the trunk lid. Note the ///AMG 55 on the lower portion of passerger side front fender.

The 2000, 2001, 2002 comes with dual pipe and without V8 Kompre...
2003, 2004 + comes with Supercharger therefore Quad exhaust and with V8 Kompre...

This might be a real CLK55 AMG. It comes with Dual Exhaust compare to no AMG only 1 pipe.

Yeah, i thought the same thing at first. Look at the rear calipers and rotors. Are those CLK55? No drilled rotors, and AMG calipers.

Either way...tacky emblems usage IMHO...specially the AMG 55 on the front fender. to each his own, i guess.

Massive fail on the various badge placements, but I'm not sure that's not a real '03-'04 AMG with the dual exhaust and what appears to be AMG calipers. '05 went to the quad tailpipes for one year until the coupe was discontinued; don't know exactly when the non-AMG CLK went to dual exhaust.
