Buying a E55 out of warranty - extended warranty?
I'm picking up a 2006 E55 this week w/ 60k miles. I work on my own cars and can do pretty much anything so labor is no concern. What can I expect to break go forward and is buying an aftermarket warranty worth it?

Search for Lisa on this board, get her number and buy an EW. She was awesome with me and sells them all from MB warranties to third party extended warranties. Owning this ride without one is definitely an expensive crapshoot!

LOL see my sig about lifetime labor..... Even though we do labor ourselves, the only thing we still need to pay for is parts.... just a thought for you. And in comparison with BMW, mercedes parts cost more.... good luck

Is this better than the Chrysler warranty others have mentioned? I was planning to get a 3 yr/unlimited miles and was quoted $2600. That sounds very reasonable to me. Let me know if her's is better.

If I remember correctly, an 06 with 60k would put you out of the window to get the Mercedes ELW warranty because you can only get it if your still within the manufacturer's original warranty (and many dealerships won't even sell it to you if you did not buy from Mercedes). I think 50k was the limit. Therefore, you would only qualify for the aftermarket warranty such as the Chrysler one. I would still call Lisa and see if she will beat that price/mileage combo. She may. Search the forums for the Chrysler warranty. Millions of posts on it. Seems to be a good one and is MOD friendly. From the looks of your M3, that would be a good thing for you.
