CLK DTM engine mods to my E55
I would be very interested to know if anyone has modified E55 with the CLK DTMs cams, pistons, intake etc. From what I can see it is our exact same supercharged 55 engines with more AMG trick bits. Can it be done? The DTMs 428 kW is crazy. I have searched the threads and cannot find anyone who has done this using AMG parts as used on the DTM. The parts are no doubt expensive but this modification should in theory be simple to do.

Parts shouldnt be hard to get unless MB require you to show proof of DTM ownership but I doubt that. MB service Dept. should be able to get them if they have the part numbers.
To my thinking this is the most logical performance upgrade using AMG parts that were specifically designed and built for the 55 Kompressor.
Obviously AMG can spend a hell of a lot more on design and function than a privatly owned workshop. Im not having a cheap shot at sponsors here who make awesome product for the 55 but a DTM 55 Kompressor parts upgrade should be easy in theory.

YES, my chance to show off my 5,000$ mistake.
Story behind this. Tuner years ago had deals with Evotech out of Germany. They were selling DTM intercoolers and the bypass delete part plus the tune. Parts were beautiful and I was about to install.....then motors started popping like Orville Reddenbacher. Tuner went under and without the tune, these are now beautiful shelf trophies. Hope to have the money someday to get Wayne at LET or Powerchip to mess around and try to find the bypass programming but til then, me and my German friends here just sit and wait.

Here is the bypass delete section. Think part number is removed but she is cool seeing the satanic bypass gone eh?

bone stock E55 AMG
i have a DTM part that i've been trying to get for months now... no luck yet...
DTM can be ordered from MB dealers that have sold DTMs to customers...
even then, it's PITA to communicate with germany and takes forever...

Try the parts department at Fletcher Jones Newport Beach or Laguna Niguel. I know that they have had sold a few DTM's here and there.

Jakpro,
if you do not mind me asking, what size is the intake for the DTM?
just trying to figure out the TB size for that car![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

do you know if CLK DTM has the Comfort mode option or has it Sport and Manual only ?
thanks
