Steering wheel swap opinions

I am looking at this steering wheel on ebay and it looks very good and if it is the same feel as I think it is (in the new VW GLI s), it would be great. Has anyone done anything like this? how hard is it to do? Can I do it myself? No airbag included so that needs to be moved from the old steering wheel.

Here is the link!

That's the steering wheels I just got from DCT. It's amazing!!! Sooooo much better than the stock one. Here's me talking about it:

To install, is easy, but you need a 10mm (I think) HEX to remove the center bolt.Once you get past that it's easy. But since I didn't have the tools, I went to a shop who did everything for me for $85.

Thanks for the info, I will probably do it myself, but I have to take care of the TPMS first .

That's a great write up and a beautiful mod, certainly necessary. Thanks

The flat-bottom black series style steering wheels are well worth it. I recently switched to the 08 version of the steering wheel (clk black series) and love everything about it. Once you actually try it, you can never go back.

Where did you end up getting the new steering wheel? If you don't mind me asking, how much?

You have to send them your oem steering wheel back to get the wheel for $800, otherwise it costs more.
