How Expensive is it to swap my interior for Black Birdseye Maple?
So as the title states I want to switch out my interior for the black birds eye maple. Is there anywhere I can go to get the parts aside from the dealership? Will any W211 interior work? I know I need to be sure I get the correct center console. Any recomended junkyards?

I would have traded you not that long ago but now I'm used to the black. I'm sure someone else might be willing to trade...

I've also thought about switching to the brown multiple times, but I'm still not sure whether I like the brown or the black more, now. Mine's an 04 as well.

Funny how we all like different things!! I hate the natural wood.
It takes no ACE. It is a very easy swap. Takes time but the parts are a snap. Get a tech or interior (upholstery) person who is familiar with the cars. There are many in socal.

+1 I hate the natural wood as well....
Some of the clips that hold the wood on the door panel are mounted at a slight angle and they break easily. I've seen them break at my local dealership more than once. What's worse is that some dealerships won't bother to change the broken clip...... and so after the change, things may look okay on the outside but you're still missing one clip.

MB_forever: Did they remove the door panels to do it or just pull from the outside? I helped a friend do CF parts on his W211 a few years back and although it was a pain we broke nothing. He did take all of the panels off, though.

And again, it is possible to mount and un-mount those wood panels without that clip and you would never know. Consequently, dealers don't bother replacing them.

Got it. Yes, we were very careful and SLOW!! We did it for fun and I agree on dealer techs not always taking their time. Steve has assembled and stripped these cars so many times that he has the routine figured out.
So, do we have a swap?
