Pacific Northwesterners - LET'S RACE! October Test 'N' Tune
I mentioned this a few weeks back, but now that October is getting closer, I figured I'd post this up for any local AMGs interested in coming out. October 10th-11th Pacific Raceways near Kent, WA is having an open Test 'N' Tune session. Gates open at 8am and racing starts at 9am. If you've never been out before and want to see what your car can run this would be a good opportunity to do it. Or if you simply want to improve your times, test out new mods, or spectate, then now is your chance as this is one of the last sessions this year.
It's $30/car & driver, and you must also buy a competition number for $10. (this is new to me, anyone know if these need to be prepurchased or just buy at the booth?)
If you decide to come, just make sure your car is in good shape, tires aren't bald, etc so you can pass tech. Shouldn't be an issue. Also, if you run quicker than 14 sec, as most AMGs should, then a helmet is required. You might get by without one on your first run, but if you're too fast they might not let you run again.
I went twice last October and had a good time. I showed up around noon, and I don't recommend this unless you only plan to make 1 or 2 passes. It was hard getting the tech guy to come inspect my car because he was already busy doing other things, and there were quite a few cars. This time I'll probably try and show up by 9 or 10 the latest, as this seems when most people arrive. And I'll try and go Saturday the 10th in the event the weather doesn't cooperate, I'll have another chance on Sunday.
If anyone has any other suggestions, tips, advice please post em!
I'll post this up on the local Bimmer forums too and hopefully some of those guys with their modded 335i, M3s, etc come out!
While me and my buddy plan to go regardless unless something unforseen comes up, I'll go ahead and start an informal list:
1. nrgy - C63
2. str8ridin
3.

I'm in! I've never heard of the $10 Competition pass either. Let me know if you find out more.
Also, which date would you like to go? 10th or 11th?
Let's get a caravan going over there.

Cool! I'll try and research that $10 competition number thing some more. On Pacific Raceway's web site it just says it's a one-time fee that's good for the year. I'm assuming you just pick one up when you pull up to the booth near the entrance, but will confirm for sure.
I usually like to do fun stuff on Saturday's, so I was planning to go the 10th. Plus if the weather is not looking so great, we could always try on Sunday. But I'm flexible, I can easily go on the 11th too, or both days!
Caravan sounds great to me. I'm located near Redmond, but could meet near Seattle, Bellevue, wherever.

I think these things usually go late into the afternoon, around 4 or 5. Not sure how long I plan to stay, but it can sometimes take awhile in between runs waiting for the different groups to go. Aren't you from KY though?

Yes, you just pick one up at the booth. One time fee, covers you for the entire year. Your number associates your car to you. For the announcers, for bracket racing, etc...

Sunday sounds good. Hopefully we get the bad weather out of the way this week! In the event that weekend isn't looking good, we can always try again the 18th.

Yeah I won't feel comfortable about the forecast until next Friday. And even then! But the temps should be great for running down the strip.
I'm not sure if I'll be available Saturday night, but otherwise I'd be down for a local get together. As far as places in Seattle, maybe the Ram near U village? I'm not sure if that's game night though, could be packed.
So far, I think the following are planning to go Sunday the 11th:
1. nrgy
2. str8ridin
3. sneakyneon
4. jikjak??
5. B.E.R.U.A.N.G

Just so you know, gates open at 8, you should try and be there then to avoid a bunch of hassel.Racing should start at 9 and is done around 3 most days. Depending on how busy you may get 3 to 6 runs in.

I'm not sure what you are tuned for, but there is a Shell station on your way to Bellevue off the 405 that has 101 octane. Let me know if you are interested and I'll get you the exact directions.

Come on down Trutaing! If jikjak is planning to stay @ the Westin in Bellevue, for those of us up North, wanna meet say at Lincoln Square and head down from there? Perhaps gather between 8-8:30 on the bottom floor of the parking garage.
And I was actually planning to mix about 5 gallons of the 101 gas on my way down. There is a station in Auburn on the way to the track that sells it from the pump.

It sucks ***** trying to find the tech guy after he's done tecing plus getting good parking, plus the coldest air will be the first few pass's.
Gates open at 8 racing starts at 9
