Talking Officially a Mercedes Benz AMG owner-Airmatic failure /Failure

Well, after over 3/4 of a million incredibly supernatural reliable miles in my 'L' cars, my first breakdown ever in over 20 years occurred right on the 5 freeway in the middle of rush hour LA traffic for the entire world to see, smile, honk, and laugh. Yep, had them all.

I ordered a lifetime warranty replacement unit off Ebay from Arnott for $499.00-$39.00 Bing instant cash back with free shipping and $100.00 back for the core. So my final price is $360.00 for a lifetime warranty unit. Pretty darn good, take that Mercedes dealers!

I should have the beast up and running in short time.
I will most likely just go ahead and order up the other side as it will fail here shortly I'm sure. I have wheels coming friday, Cf diffuser and a host of other mods that need installing.

I will now celebrate this occasion by polishing up and getting my tools ready for the occasion.

Meanwhile my wife just shakes her head and gives me that, 'I told you' look.

From everything I have read, Mercedes says it is not a problem. Most here say it is and failures are often. That's life in the fast lane I suppose.

Did I read it wrong? Or did you say your car have 3/4 million miles? If that the case, congrats to you.

No, some are trying to find a link between lowered cars and airmatic failures, but in my case, completely stock.

So how many miles does she really have? Also, when it failed was the car really undriveable or were you just being cautious? That ebay deal sounds awesome btw.

new unit arrived this morning from arnott. Though it appears different on the outside, it worked perfectly. No issues whatsoever. Total R&R time was under 1.5 hours. Can't beat the price and warranty.

anyone got a diy on this ? seems like a hell of a lot of tension on rear arm when trying to remove it, just hoping someone has a diy on the shock/airmatic to then release the tension.

There was one posted less than a month ago, I couldn't find it on a quick search. I remember it was very detailed, good luck

Meanwhile my wife just shakes her head and gives me that, 'I told you' look.
When my wife does that, I punch it and it turns into "Oh My God, I am gonna die" look. The transformation is quite fast.

Then I get the look again, but for that few seconds.....
