I would really like to find a STAR diag system, assuming the most recent rev 4 wireless/wired model. That ecartool link is garbage, even after registering everything is priced at billions of euros and the site is just shady in general.

I'm fine with buying a knockoff but not from that site. Any recommendations? Ebay also is pretty vague.

Hello,

any chance someone know if there is possibility to show Oil Temperature in IC on E55? I know E63 got this option, but is there any way how to activate it via STAR on E55?

Thanks!

OP wanted it to be displayed in IC, which can only be possible for the E55 with a cluster swap. DashDaq would work much better though!

My DashDaq finds 32 signals and displays about 15. I just have to figure out
how to display them. I'm suspect there is a way. I just haven't had the time to work with it.

from what I have seen with OBD2 gauges the more PID you select to monitor the slower the sample rate gets. Is that the same with the DashDaq?

I would agree with you. I have no idea what processor they use nor the clock speed. That said, I have not spent any time with the unit, other than primarily monitoring the IAT. I know it will not provide AFR's directly.

Where to buy Star Diagnostic

This is where I got my Star. When I just checked the website to copy the link, I noticed they have 1/2013 software now too.

http://www.obdii-diag.com/mb-star-c3-scanner-p-47.html

Works perfectly and the guy would respond to my emails right away. I purchased a used Dell 630 laptop, installed the hard drive and good to go!

Flashing Brake Lights on Hard braking

Here is the DIY for enabling flashing brake lights on hard braking. I didn't see one for this one so thought I'd post up.

Go to Control Units -> Body -> Rear SAM -> Development Data -> Control Unit Adaptations -> Control Unit Adaptations (Variant Coding)

Pick Parameter Notbremsung below:

Code both parameters to zugelassen (permitted) as below:

Enjoy!

I lowered my car this weekend via Xentry DAS and here are the results.

I included a screen shot of my voltages as well although I know each car is different. I'm pleased with the results!

I have no idea where you are looking.

As mentioned, Go to Control Units -> Body -> Rear SAM -> Development Data -> Control Unit Adaptations -> Control Unit Adaptations (Variant Coding)

This is only on newer vehicles. I am not sure where the cutoff is exactly. If your car is 06 or older you may be out of luck.

I know the inclination levels for lowering the W211 Chassis is 3.5 for the front but if you want to go a little lower in the front would you go 3.4 or 3.6? I appreciate any input on this matter

I also have been playing with development mode in a few of my cars and I figured out how to turn off the o2 sensors. I am going to post how to do it very soon, stay tuned

the inclination angles are not related directly to going lower. As long as the voltage on the sensors are in permissible range that's the height the car will stay at.

Selling my MB Star 3 Multiplexer, Cables, External VM, Internal Hard Drive & Software

MB Star 3 - Hard Drive
MB Star 3 - External Hard-Drive (Virtual Machine)

Will consider parting with the laptop I used as well depending on the offer.

Just sold my 2004 E55 so I'm parting with all my stuff. Paid over $800 + shipping just over a year ago. Selling for $600 + shipping.

Has anyone figured the out mod to show fuel remaining yet? I've enabled both "Tankinfo im Reichweitenbild" and "Menu RR: Reichweite/Tankinfo" but it still doesn't seem to work, am I missing something? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You have to reboot "Kombiinstrument".
to do this in Developer mode we go back by hitting F1 -> 3 times
then choose Ansteuerungen -> Gesamstliste aller Ansteuerungen ->
Scroll down untill you see the line : Steuergeraet Resetten (PowerON-Modus) (FN_Reset_SG_Power_ON)
Press F3 and confirm again with F3
Now you will see the "Kombiinstrument" reboots
