Its not going online that is the issue. I have had people teamview my system. and even input keys for addons. you need to follow your support system and be very careful of what you do with DAS.
If you don't know what your doing don't do it! there is no guessing when you are using this. its like a gun if you don't use it right your going to be in big trouble something is gong to get hurt. and its usually your car and your wallet. there are vendors here that can help you.

 

Well, turn off windowsXP updates then. I see plenty of DAS systems with wireless connected for wireless printing, and for searching with google while concurrently running DAS. When you say STAR online are you referring to the laptop connected to the internet or logging into STAR online service? If its the later, you don't have a login for that anyway, so no fear of DAS updating.
Stop worrying and get it connected to the car.

 

I have the C3 connected to the car. DAS and WIS took and saved the passwords, but Xentry would not. DAS is working fine.

Please note that when the laptop is turned on I get constant "unable to connect" messages from programs trying to connect to the internet for automatic updates. I have the wifi disabled.

By the way, this C3 WILL NOT connect with the car unless the engine is running. I get low voltage errors even with a trickle charger connected to the battery.


Could the problem be the battery is weak? With the charger connected you would think it would be ok, regardless. Star shows 12.4v with the charger connected and the ignition off, 14-14.7v with the engine running.

I have seen DAS report inaccurate voltages for the battery. It is probably reading the volts at the EIS and there is likely volts drop from the trunk. A/C, lights, and radio should be turned off when running DAS to help maintain a good operating voltage for DAS. A trickle charger won't help much. Dealers connect a charger at the battery for extended DAS connects. If your battery is old and or tests bad then you will find your car runs so much better with a new Battery. Many DAS faults go away with a fresh battery.

 

What version of SDS software is this? If not ever seen this screen.

 

Xentry is marked "Software-Version: 14.1.5.0 Data-Version:11/2013".

 

I have one 2002 c32 amg w 50k , and my supercharger having this noise like in this video from YouTube , 3 mechanics 3 different opinions first to replace the all spcgr and pulleys for 4500$ second to change the inside BS part for 1300$ minimum and a third just waiting ,what did you think I can do ? car in excellent condition except this issue , no personal experience with garage and hand work at cars , thanks

 

I had another SL last year and it sounded just like that. Just the supercharger bearing was bad. Sourced the bearing for about $75 and another $75 to have it removed and pressed in (I broke 2 strap wrenches trying to do it myself).

  I'm going to follow your instructions. I will go online with the C3, as you requested, and install a new TeamViewer program. I will then email you my user name and password. Then you can get the Xentry program working for me.
  
  I will not update any programs, but I don't understand how this unit will not automatically update once online. By ending communication with me you have forced me to make an uncomfortable decision, with very limited information, but I will do as you say, as the unit is worthless without the Xentry program. I thought I could use just the DAS program, but it will not work properly without Xentry.

  I can't get Xentry to open. In STAR Utilities, StartKey Manager, when I try to save the SartKey for Xentry I get an error message that says:
  
  "Save not successfully 5- Hardware ID of the machine does not match to the encoded information."
  
  The codes were correct and saved for WIS and DAS, however.
  
  So I need a new StartKey for Xentry please.
  
  Also, do I need to keep the system clock set at a certain date to keep the software from timing out?
  
  And is it unwise to go on the internet with this unit? I read the software will try to automatically update and get black listed.

Even though we had communication/translation issues, once these guys got my Teamviewer ID and password, they knew what to do. I watched for a while before going to bed as they updated/downloaded everything. This morning everything works as it's supposed to.


My thoughts if you're considering buying one of these Chinese SDS scanners:


There is no help or support. The vendors will not understand your questions. Most of the posts on this thread are years old. Many of the posters are either dead or switched to BMW by now. The ones still hanging around want to charge you for simple info (you should see my PM inbox). You'll have to read, read and reread tons of old posts in these forums and try to figure it out yourself, or pay someone for guidance.


If you have average computer skills, like me, good luck. Hopefully you'll get a good vendor who'll help, but communication is difficult because of lack of competent translators/software. Just expect them to have to remotely configure everything. I can recommend my guys, Mr Cartool Shop on AliExpress, as they did eventually get it all going. BTW, the prices on the C3, with the Dell D630 hdd, have fallen to below $300. Definitely pick up an old Dell or IBM for $50-$100 and use the internal hard drive option; it'll save you some headaches.

Even though I uninstalled "Online Update BG" from the control panel, it was still there. After the vendor did his thing while I was online, I got messages from that program telling me there were Xentry add-ons to install. If I didn't install right then, they would install automatically the next time DAS was opened. I contacted the vendor; they apparently did not understand, so I went ahead and installed the add-ons, as I had no choice. I was worried, but everything seems to work ok, for now. No one who's talking seems to understand that program.


Now I'm off to calibrate my strut travel sensors, do the rodeo, and hopefully when I'm done I'll think all this was worth it. If I can get my ABC functioning properly for about $700 (not counting the scanner/laptop), vs $3k-$15k at the dealer (who really knows what kind of number they can come up with in the end), I'll be more than pleased. I'm taking the car, strut and scanner to a shop where I'll be right there as the mechanic follows the instructions in DAS.

The support people said it has the 2014/01 version and will need to be slightly updated and the text on the product info is wrong. Has anyone used this version? It's pretty pricey but the Developer software will be in english, not just german. I was shopping around for a while waiting til this one was developed. Just want to make sure it's not a scam Seems like a legit company though.

 

Sounds like a lot of money for Super MB STAR Plus. I wouldn't do it.

Played around with my Star today and managed to modify the amount of alarms chirps for activation and deactivation. Not sure if that has been discussed before but its pretty cool.

 

Cocoh are you have Vediamo. I want to buy this software, but i'm not sure that will be good for me. I want to coding new valve plate on 7G Tronic. I heard that with Vediamo I can coppy coding from old (broken) valve plate to new plate. Are thats true? Thank you
